Need help expanding my 2.1 system into 2.2

A pure Poweramp definitely bears the risk that you won't be able to align your sub using the mere ±6dB of trim on the Yamaha. To mitigate that, you could add a passive attenuator like a Behringer Monitor1 in between the AVR and the Poweramp. Alternatively, you could use an Amp with built-in...

Need help expanding my 2.1 system into 2.2

Yes. The Yamaha handles the crossover and naturally volume control for all analog outputs. The subwoofer trim is for aligning your subs to the mains. For volume control, you use the volume knob/remote/HDMI CEC.

Topping L30 II Review (Headphone Amp)

The L30II has slightly more noise in High gain, so I'd expect a slight degradation in the multitone test result. Though nothing even close to audible.

Harman Kardon SoundStick 4 and the problem of fine-tuning EQ

Btw, if you have an iPhone or can borrow one, then you can measure your SoundStick's response with the HouseCurve App and use that to make corrections. No measurement mic required.

Topping D50 III Balanced DAC with EQ Review

Here's Topping's Product page for the D50III: https://www.toppingaudio.com/product-item/d50-iii Yes, they have three different product pages. I don't know why.

Harman Kardon SoundStick 4 and the problem of fine-tuning EQ

I don't use Peace and don't generally recommend it. I use the default Equalizer APO Editor, where for the most basic sound adjustment, you can simply add a -10dB preamp (to avoid clipping), then a 10-band graphic EQ. If there's too much bass, simply reduce the sliders on the left.

Sennheiser HD 490 Pro Headphone Review

What do you want Amir to strap subwoofers to his ears to listen just like he does with headphones? Obviously different types of equipment require different methods.

Sennheiser HD 490 Pro Headphone Review

As part of his reviews, Amir does listening tests of loudspeakers in Mono. I don't think he does the same for headphones.

Harman Kardon SoundStick 4 and the problem of fine-tuning EQ

Wdym by nothing happened? EQApo doesn't change the sound just by installing it. You have to open the Editor and make changes yourself.

Harman Kardon SoundStick 4 and the problem of fine-tuning EQ

Here's the download link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/ Here's the installation and configuration guide: https://sourceforge.net/p/equalizerapo/wiki/Documentation/ One thing that the guide doesn't mention is that you can configure EQApo with a simple Editor GUI (It's called...

Topping D50 III Balanced DAC with EQ Review

Correct. For now, Topping Tune is only available for Windows. Seems logical, until you realize that you cannot connect two USB slave devices to each other via USB. The Cubilux adapter simply cannot communicate with the D50 III. It won't work. A USB connection is always between a USB Host...

Harman Kardon SoundStick 4 and the problem of fine-tuning EQ

I would buy an Apple headphone adapter, do PC->Apple adapter->SoundStick, then install Equalizer APO and use it to tune the sound. A preamp with EQ costs upwards of $500, which is absolutely not worth it when EQApo achieves the same for free.

SMSL DL200 the best ever value DAC/AMP?

The DL200 can drive the DT880 600Ω to ~110dB SPL Peak. That's about 8x my usual listening volume.

The 490 Pro has higher sensitivity, less harmonic distortion, better bass extension, and a better cable.

Sennheiser HD 490 Pro Headphone Review

Put Amir's distortion measurements into context using: 1. Distortion audibility thresholds: 2. Music spectra: 3. Actual listening volumes: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/how-loud-do-you-like-your-music.40006/ ..and all of a sudden the distortion alarmism becomes...
