GLM4 4.2.0 a big improvement in sound quality

You will need a middleman device then, S/PDIF ones are a lot cheaper than AES though. "Direct" connect version = Toslink (from your ASUS x570 Dark Hero) <-> Coax/RCA Converter: https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/digital-interfaces/spdif-optical-toslink-to-coaxial-converter-reversible-p-15796.html...

GLM4 4.2.0 a big improvement in sound quality

I see the appeal. As bodhi pointed out though, if you are keeping your cable runs short - this is all that is really needed to connect a S/PDIF source to Genelec Speakers: https://www.thomann.de/se/pro_snake_aes_ebu_spdif_cable_3.htm Set max volume via GLM (to avoid any mishaps) and fine-tune...

GLM4 4.2.0 a big improvement in sound quality

I heard this too. I found a cheap Neutrik converter on Ebay so it was more of a precaution since Genelec themselves recommend an impedance converter.

GLM4 4.2.0 a big improvement in sound quality

S/PDIF is compatible with AES so there's no actual requirement to have AES-out, and it's far easier to find a preamp/interface/DAC with S/PDIF out (or directly from your computer) to get a digital signal to your Genelecs. I'm planning a purchase of the 8350:s and my plan is this: PC S/PDIF/RCA...

"Secrets" about the consumer audio business you may find interesting

I think enthusiasts like us get emotionally involved to a degree, and expect companies to manufacture quality products only. Problem is, companies main goal will always be profit first. It's easy to forget sometimes.

Crutchfield has them on sale for 346$ /ea for you guys across the Pond https://www.crutchfield.com/S-yssTmIOvsgb/p_265M16BK/Revel-Concerta2-M16-High-Gloss-Black.html Also, i do not agree with anything that guy in the video feels about these speakers. Fatigue is pretty much the opposite of my...

Why aren't D'Appolito arrays more common?

Will i be able to see those type of issues when i take measurements at home with REW? Anything i should think of when doing sweeps? Just a curious amateur as i've mentioned..

Why aren't D'Appolito arrays more common?

Sorry i missed this, i think you already got an answer. I could also mention that XTZ had help from a US-based engineering firm with the Cinema-series of speakers (using the MTM-design) and the reason why some of them might look familiar, is because that same engineering firm was also a partner...

Why aren't D'Appolito arrays more common?

Thought i'd chime in and say that there are still a few modern designs still available for sale. I for one am very happy with my MTM front consisting of XTZ Cinema M8 Towers + Center I'm just an amateur so couldn't say if it's because of the MTM design or not.. but it's the best sounding...

    KEF LS50 Meta Review (Speaker)

Was contemplating LS50 Metas when i purchased new speakers a few weeks ago.. interestingly they perform similar to the Revel M16s that i ended up with. I'm happy i didn't spend twice as much to get these! They do look good, but the Revels are no slouches in that regard either.

Kali Audio IN-8v2 (Second Wave) 3-Way Studio Monitor Review

As stated, Thomann does indeed have v2 but call them second wave. https://www.thomann.de/se/kali_audio_in_8_2nd_wave.htm

    Genelec 8030c vs LS50 Meta/Wireless

Absolutely! I was only referring to the "old" LS50 in my post. even the small LSX seems to be performing quite well (recently reviewed here on ASR) As for my personal opinion, LS50 left a bitter aftertaste so i will probably try Genelecs or similar if the Revels do not fit my preferences. R3 is...

    Genelec 8030c vs LS50 Meta/Wireless

No problem! (FYI this was 3-4 years ago, before i discovered ASR) In no particular order: Looks Supposed to work well in near-field (my use-case was desktop audio) General consensus / hype from youtubers and reviews, reddit Price, i paid 650€ for used but an "as new" pair back when MSRP was...

    Genelec 8030c vs LS50 Meta/Wireless

I had KEF LS50s and was dissapointed, probably because i prefer mid / bass-ier speakers. I had these previously: http://usa.xtz.se/dsp/s-800-dsp-black?stat=1 I then sold the LS50s and bought XTZ Spirit 4s (softdome / waveguide tweeter, 6.5" mid/bass) that i enjoy so much more! I only paid 300€...

    Loxjie A30 Amplifier Review

I wonder if the hissing/noise mentioned is similar to the USB-issue i had intermittently, prompting me to try Bluetooth. Sadly i got some other issues over BT (audio dropouts, audio delay - lip not synced if watching videos eventhough loxjie and BT-antenna is placed less than 15cm apart..)...

    KEF LSX Review (Wireless Speaker)

Nicely written review Amir! I've been meaning to dip my toes in the active loudspeaker pond for a long time, but seeing how i felt the LS50s lacked bass i was hesitant with the wireless or LSX variants. I decided to order a pair of Revel M16s instead that might fit me better, if not the search...

    Loxjie A30 Amplifier Review

I wanted to come back and confirm that my "garbled sound / extreme volume"-issue is gone since i switched from USB to BT. Cabling or USB issue? Not sure. I will swap to Toslink/Optical once i get a switch (my Sennheiser RS-185s is occupying the single one i use from my PC currently..)

    Loxjie A30 Amplifier Review

I've never changed the source, and you can't really do it by accident since you have to dig in the menu by pressing the knob. As i mentioned, the amp was never turned off. It had just been idling, and when i got back and resumed spotify playback the issue occurred. Yes, if you have the Loxjie...
