Cold reboot fixed it to me. I mean, pull the USB power plug, wait for 15 seconds, reconnect.

Mine required an extra (manual) reboot after the update as it somehow fell back to playing in SD only (which is not gapless). Actually, I rebooted both WiiM and my tablet with the Amazon Music app, so not sure which one was required but it helped.

DLNA playback on WiiM Pro/Mini is gapless as well. With the occasional quirks but mostly it works fine. Chromecast, however, does not support gaplesss playback natively and very few apps can emulate it when connected via Chromecast.
