    Revel F206 Tower Speaker Review

I was sad that back in the day you did not have time to do the listening test for f208 (which I have four), but now I feel it should be safe to extrapolate your positive listening impressions of f206 to f208 Owners of 206/208: do you use the tweeter volume dial at the back to reduce the highs...

Apple is forced to allow installation of 3rd party Apps (outside of their official store) in the EU

Apple, being a US company, is taking down apps of our Russian banks sanctioned by the US. Whether they take down apps at request from Russian gov if they do not violate App Store rules - I am not so sure. Apple is much more cavalier about paying fines to the Russian govt (just a few weeks ago...

Apple is forced to allow installation of 3rd party Apps (outside of their official store) in the EU

Apple user *in Russia* here. We have had all apps of our major banks deleted from App Store last year. So sideloading is critical for us.

Single Revel F208 with low midrange output

Similar problem occurred to me a few days ago: lower midrange level on one of my f208 speakers, but also lower treble and some audible distortion. Living in Russia there is no way of purchasing a single f208 or even a pair now, so this problem made me really sad… until I noticed that one of the...

Poll: How do you primarily listen to audio at home?

Sure, but the poll asked how do YOU, the asr reader, listen to audio. Not the general public. I thought that WE, the asr community, try to get the best of what modern technology has on offer when listening to audio.

Poll: How do you primarily listen to audio at home?

Jesus, only 9% of us primarily listen to audio (it’s deliberately called audio not music - right?) on 5.x and larger systems! I thought this number should be at least 20%. With all the recent Dolby Atmos masters on Apple/Amazon music etc.

    Marantz AV10 AV Processor Review

Dying to see how their new AVR’s perform as processors (for those of us who have good amps and don’t need so many channels)

    Marantz AV10 AV Processor Review

Very well said. I think (but may be mistaken in this) that I can live without Dirac if I’m given manual PEQ adjustments after Audyssey calibration is done.

What components have you gotten rid of from reading ASR?

B&W 702 sold >> Revel f208 x2 pairs bought Sennheiser HDVD 800 sold, Chord Qutest sold >> Sabaj A20d & FiiO Btr7 + bought NAD m28 amp + I too sold all my expensive Acrolink cables + Audioholix measurements made me switch from 2 Revel S510 subs to 2 SVS PB pro 2000

Topping PA5 II Stereo Amplifier Review

Would be interesting to see how much power is enough to drive a pair of speakers of an average sensitivity if they’re crossed at ~ 80 Hz with subs. If most of the power demand is from bass and below, maybe this small Topping amp is actually enough for even large systems if bass is off-loaded to...

    Bluesound Powernode Streaming Amplifier Review

Yeah, who needs such nonsense devices when Denon 3800 (and probably 2800 too) does all the same but so much better + much much more for ~ the same price

Trinnov 8m 8 Channel Amplifier Review

Thank you. Comparing FFT and Power vs distortion charts for this amp vs my NAD m28 I am still happy with having the latter. and it costs just ~ half as much with just 1 channel less and it looks nicer and it has RCA inputs to connect to my Denon AVR

Amir's 2023 Pacific Audio Fest Report Day 2

Oh, man!… k I’m not big on gear porn but the songs that you provided are fantastic!! Discovered so many new artists that I like. Searched them all on Amazon Music and many are in Ultra HD/Atmos which is great. Listened up to Sara K. so far. Have been stuck to electronic / downtempo music for too...

Dan Clark Audio Ether Flow 1.1 Headphone Review

Yeah, at least ONCE we have to see it for a headphone like this (low distortion, but requires multiple filters)!

    Arendal 1961 Center/Monitor Speaker Review

Hope that someone will read this review and buy & drop ship their bigger 1723 CENTER THX speaker to you soon! Given how good this smaller speaker performs, clearly worth the risk of buying the more powerful one and worth the time measuring it I think!

    Denon AVR-X4800H AVR Review

And what was your cut-off frequency for calibration on Audyssey and Dirac? Can you please also show us the resulting response curves for Audyssey and Dirac measured post calibration in REW for instance? Thanks!

    Denon AVR-X4800H AVR Review

right so that's why I never go above volume 80. not sure if I even know what clipping sounds like. my crossover setting in Denon is 80 Hz so everything below that that has the most energy goes to a pair of 1kW subs not to NAD amp, so I don't think at volume 80 I ever experience clipping...

    Denon AVR-X4800H AVR Review

Denon x6500 & NAD m28 here. Usually listen to movies at Denon's volume 77-80; listening position about 3,5 meters from the main speakers. Speaker sensitivity 88 dB (Revel f208). Given that peak 2 volts can be achieved at volume 82,5, NAD m28 amps (with rated sensitivity of 1.3 volts) satiate at...

Dirac Live ( Stereo ) my experience so far

Please show us the before (if available) and after REW freq response curves! P.S. I also have a pair of the same SVS subs they’re great! Used to have Revel 106s before switching to f208s.
