the problem with airpods, besides just bluetooth EMF, is the battery life...at some point you'll need to either try and change them or but a new pair...designed obsolescence...

Lower your noise floor and you can lower the volume...I use etymotic IEMs and they have fantastic isolation, often I can't get the volume low enough on my android phone (the increments are too big). I also use them while biking, they cut the high frequency wind noise substantially.

The 58 is on my xmass watch list...they have made some modifications to the device to improve workflow...

I picked up a renewed LG G8 for $150 a year of so ago...pretty cheap relative to a DAP and I can download podcasts much easier using an app on the phone...I run it w/ no simm card and antennas off (don't get me going about EMFs)...I do miss having function keys on the side, but you can emulate...

Why not just keep the phone, pull the SIM card, put it on airplane mode, wifi and bluetooth off....that's what i do....even a refurbished phone on amazon is waaaay better and less expensive than a DAP

I use a pair of Yamaha DBR-10s for home theater...they are great....

I changed linux variants and was having a channel with low volume...long story short, I screwed up the balance setting, but when looking to check it, the dialog was opening smaller than the controls, so I couldn't find the control...I ended up contacting topping thinking it was a DAC...
