I am actually rather surprised and disappointed as the only time I have heard an M-Audio product (I think it was the slightly larger BX5 monitor), it actually sounded very decent.

I use the DDJ400 a lot which I think it excellent, so I would definitely be interested to see how it compares with other brands and the more expensive Pioneer devices.

I am looking for a compact and not too expensive power amp which can be use to power Neat Iota (https://neatacoustics.com/iota/) speakers. The DAC/preamp will be the Topping DX7 Pro. What can you recommend?

They are still a measuring device, by your definition, I can assign a number to the sound I am hearing. Is it a repeatable or accurate measuring device (which was my point)? No.

In the end we settled on a partial refund, I would rather have the device than return it and wait months for a black replacement.

I have one, it is excellent and sounds very transparent via speakers. It can hold its own against components costing 5 to 10 times as much without issue. Just goes to show, those measurements don't tell you what it will sound like...

It has been very good. I have dropped it into 2 systems where it has been compared against electronics costing significantly more (e.g Naim Audio) and it has not been embarrassed. For the price it is an incredible bargain.
