Unfortunately I may have this issue myself but cant turn up the speakers loud enough to see if the issue is actually there (apartment). So, this is concerning as it may take years to find out if I have this particular problem with mine and by then will be too late.

In my setup there is a marked difference in sound, no comparison. Every area of the Kali's is superior, highs/mids/lows and surprisingly the amp section. The edifiers just didn't have anything behind it. I turn them up and its just.....meh. Nothing special stands out. If you want bluetooth...

I ended demoing some monitors at a couple of local music shops and walked out of there with a pair of Kali LP6 v2's. I thought they sounded fantastic compared to everything else (adam audio T7V, yamaha HS8, KFK 6" forget the model but the KFK sounded closest to the Kali if not slightly better...

Sorry for the late reply! I came away really disappointed with the MKIII's. Completely subjective opinion here, the tweeters have a color to them that is is not for me. They were not very loud either and had no low end, so they went back.

There will always be hiss in powered speakers, (the edifier 2K MKIII hiss comes to mind, its quite loud) but like others have said you're only going to hear it on the LP-6 if you have a dead quiet area.

At 0 db (center position) there is some hiss but its barely audible. If its dead quiet you will hear it (and that's with just about anything) but if you have anything else going on around you like TV/people/general life noise then it gets drowned out easily and its a non issue.

Ah yes, I found them but anything would have been better than what they gave. I wonder if its on purpose to help create the sound it has but not lifting them up of the stand/table

Pretty sure 'box sound' means it sounds like no dampening on the inside. I looked inside myself, its there but not very thick, looks like thin carpet. And yes imaging is exceptional, that is a strong point of these speakers. Agree with everything above and would also include the lack of feet...

I just picked these up myself completely doubting them at first. After directly testing them live against the AA T7V, KRK rokit 5/7, Yamaha H5S, JBL 306 and Edifier S2000MKIII. This was for nearfield listening because anything outside of a klipsch promedia for PC desktop use is complete junk...
