Just a note, the L-R connection does not use WiFi / internet. The connectors and the cable are identical, but that's where the similary ends. The only reason to use the cable is if you want to use 192khz, since the wireless connection is max 96 khz.
I guess it's possible, but it's probably bad for business. Proper blind testing and scientific measurements will make the make market more efficient, pushing consumers to buy lower-margin products.

There absolutely is a consensus on this. Lossless compression exists. Streaming services offer it. You're 100% getting the actual bits. Anything else is FUD from people who don't understand the technology.
Lossy compression on Tidal? Citation needed.
Also please explain why in the name of Christ they would need 1.5 Gbps for an Audio stream. Uncompressed Losless cd is 1,411 kbps (i.e. 1/1000th of a 1.5 Gbps)
