    Wiring Speakon and Banana plugs

I use same type as the one on the picture above for everything, except for speaker and interconnect cables. From Audiophonics, I also used the Elecaudio, Furutech, Viablue ones and the cheap silver plated ones. The Viablue ones are thin so could help if tight space. The sizes of the Furutech...

Sigberg Audio Saranna (fullrange, cardioid active floorstander) development thread

Thorbjorn has never shown what’s behind his sofa…. :p I know that Sigberg Audio has some stock B pairs of Mantas with reduced prices…. a good opportunity to buy a pair for the surrounds! @sigbergaudio Have you tried Mantas in a L/C/R setup? Would it work? I believe the SBS1 could be...

Sigberg Audio Saranna (fullrange, cardioid active floorstander) development thread

You get used too…. and once you have 50% of your tv screen masked by your speakers, you start putting them around you sofa and you end up with a 5.2 or 7.2 system doing multichannel audio ;)

Sigberg Audio Manta Cardioid active speakers: Full measurements (Spinorama)

You could even do a +2dB high shelf with the coax beaming at ear level as I do I usually have a quick roll off of the treble beyond 10kHz at the MLP. Unavoidable in an untreated room with curtains, rugs, and other highly absorbing pieces of furniture. Sitting closer to the speakers would...

Deciding Between NCX500, Purifi Eigentakt and Nilai

To reassure you, I dealt with Apollon audio twice and each time 1 month for Tibor = 2 months for rest of the world. Space-time in Slovenia seems to be very deformed…. 4 months seeems to be the actual timeline for a multichannel amp.

Sigberg Audio Manta (12" wideband cardioid active speakers) development thread

But beyond the look/colour/texture, I'd expect some changes in the radiation effects. Wouldn't the stiff texture imply less energy radiated?

Sigberg Audio Manta (12" wideband cardioid active speakers) development thread

Regarding the M3, I think he is referring to the GGNTKT: https://www.puriteaudio.co.uk/ggntkt-m1-gegentakt-m3 @Purité Audio: Do you have a demo pair of M3?

Sigberg Audio Manta (12" wideband cardioid active speakers) development thread

Agreed on the wood contrast, something lighter than walnut may look more elegant. I find matt colours best (no issues with fingerprints). The material used for the ports looks different (mesh type). Have you experimented different types of mesh?

I can’t stop listening to live recordings of female voices with the Mantas. Soundstage and clarity are both incredible I find.

Nobsound 3-IN-1-OUT XLR Audio Switch Review

It is not that easy to remove the XLR cables, you need to hold the case firmly. Not a concern at all.

End Game Speakers - The Quest Continues

Indeed. Prices for a pair of SCM50/100/150 A pro should be instead $10k/$12.5k/$15k. On vintageking, a pair of SCM150A is ~$23k !!

I wouldn't mind a pair of ATC SCM150A pro besides my Mantas though :-p

End Game Speakers - The Quest Continues

It depends I think. Most speaker brands for the average audiophile tend to release speakers with enhanced treble a la B&W, Focal, Sonus Faber, etc... So yes, new models may indeed 'sound' worse than the previous ones. For monitors, it seems that there is often improvements in design. Either...

End Game Speakers - The Quest Continues

In general, there is always an expectation that what is not released yet will be better in some sense. Concerning DD, I think MKR is right to wait and see the coming bigger model. Some of the weaknesses of the 8C should be addressed. Further, MKR, apparently like me, can't live with the idea to...
