I think this product might be a candidate for those LX521 builders/users. Linkwitz specified/used an ATI AT6012 (12 channel 60W) amplifier for his Orion and LX521 designs. One could mount the amplifiers and ASP crossover close by each speaker and eliminate lots of speaker wire and interconnects...

I think but can't be 100% that the version Absoute Sound reviewed above is Frank's (MagicLX) "latest" with the magnesium woofer upgrade and combination active crossover/amplification boxes. You can still "build" (i.e., DIY) an LX521.4 for considerably less $$$ assuming you have the interest...

fpitas - It's just a generic active crossover design example. It does not specify any drivers, nor integrate any driver responses into the filter response. Ditto equalization of drivers. So it does not provide a complete design. It does attempt to cover the various design principles discussed...

Don't know if it qualifies for "beginner's guide" but Chapter 19 (An Active Crossover Design) of Douglas Self's book "The Design Of Active Crossovers" shows a generic 3 way example. I have the 2011 release. I believe there is an updated version as well.
