    Sub 25K active speaker/system choice

The room can be fixed later in the time, some people just don't like reselling speakers and don't want to invest in the room as they are going to move, etc. But this is true, of course, room is maybe even more important than the speakers.

It's quite hard to believe. SCM19V1 is a passive speaker of course, so doesn't apply. Are all active ATCs V shaped then?

SCM 25 ASL are V shaped and someone in this thread says they are.

ATCs vary from model to model. Some are V shaped. Some have emphasis on mids.

Your "title" is misleading, there were no measurements.

No, but it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter how it sounds if there is no data to try to figure out why it sounds like this.

Figure out how exactly? There are no detailed measurements existing. And when there is, then it doesn't look convincing. There is no ground to even make some theory.

They measured from 4 meters, so shouldn't be a problem at all.

Yours actually look better (well I don't really know because nothing higher than 5 khz included for some reason). I'd prefer higher resolution and some frequencies higher than 5 khz included. Are ATCs V-shaped in general? Yours have some bass boost and what is in higher frequencies? That small...

There was also a second model (active, not sure if discontinued) measured and it was "iffy" too. So unless proven otherwise we can assume they are all "iffy".

But IMD increases as you increase driver operating range? It's one of the reasons multiple-way loudspeakers exist. More frequencies to play = more IMD. Anyway IMD and even THD of ATC loudspeakers are a mystery.

Probably yes, it has a huge ferrite magnet vs smaller neo magnet. But it's not gym equipment.

    JBL 4429 vs 4349

Why not use a convolution? Or match filters to the convolution if you are against fir filtering for some reason.

    JBL 4429 vs 4349

Too much hiss. Both 8 and 5. Not a problem for me with 2.5 meters distance and a noisier room, but I can see it being a problem in quiter room.

If you have a quite listening place "p" 7 series is a not an option.

Limiter is in the place. You can see settings in the screenshot. It's not hard to replicate with a limiter plugin, if you want to.

    JBL 4429 vs 4349

You need some way to do it and apply four filters on top of it ("speaker eq" section in the screenshot)

    JBL 4429 vs 4349

There are two ways of doing it First is to use BSS, which uses PEQ The problem with it is that nobody knows what model they use to construct. Especially on higher frequencies. Also there is a "high shelf" which might differ even more. Second option is DCIN amplifier which combines convolution...
