That's quite focussed on the PC use case. Trickier to also incorporate the AirPlay feature that the OP wants as well as a PC hook-up with that solution.

The 8341As (I have two pairs here) will convert everything to digital anyway to do DSP etc, so no need for a DAC.

With my 8340As in my kitchen, I use SPIDF: - a USB to SPDIF out from the iPad and Laptop - the SPDIF out from an AppleAirportExpress (for AirPlay) I feed both of those into an SPDIF switch and feed the coaxial SPDIF from that switch direct into the Genelecs. Works great and very cheap.

If using with iOS/iPadOS devices, definitely yes. As user selectable system-wide custom audio DSP is not possible with those OS’s.

Works great with my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

My original S9 worked fine with iPhone 13 Pro Max using the official Apple camera kit.

They can take a while as he makes them to order. Took a couple of weeks for the two RCA ones to arrive in the UK. I'd give him a nudge if you've heard nothing :) The BNC variants take much longer as he batches them up. Took about 6 months for my BNC one to be made & shipped to me.

I.E. when volume adjusted on screen or via remote, the motorised volume knob could sync its position to match. Hopefully it has this feature.

Was thinking the same thing. If the knob is motorised, it could also sync with the onscreen volume control in GLM. Also keen to know whether the headphone output can drive the Expanse well enough.

The Douk U2 mentioned above is less than half the price, slightly bigger than a zippo lighter, also has both toslink and coax SPDIF outputs. It does not include a quality DAC with single-ended outputs like the Topping D10s though.
