Review and Measurements of Yamaha WXA-50 Streaming Amp

No rca currently. I wonder if by handling the 3.5 and you damaged something with static charge. Feeling electrical output from an input Jack is worrisome.

Review and Measurements of Yamaha WXA-50 Streaming Amp

That was a mistake. I had previously started to work that and didn’t after I saw that detail. When I responded to this latest post it put it in. I edited my post but you’re too quick for me. Lol.

Review and Measurements of Yamaha WXA-50 Streaming Amp

I bought a used model that didn’t come with remote or stand. I found a source for the remote and replaced it, but I’m still looking for an option for the stand. (Or an alternate way to make it sit vertically and add stability).

    My Problem With Inexpensive Electronics

Earlier Martin mentioned poor experiences with kitchenaid. Ironically I have a 20+ year old one in my kitchen now. And a 30+ year old Frigidaire in the garage. And a 40+ year old window ac from Sears...

    My Problem With Inexpensive Electronics

There a movement toward holding manufacturers responsible for a ‘right to repair’ that may resonate with this thread. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronics_right_to_repair

I realize that could be the case, but it isn't always impossible to reach people. Worth a try.

    Integrated amplifier help Please

Let me also say that your criteria seems a bit narrow. Class D isn't anything like it once was. The objective measurements and subjective listening tests of many people that use this site attest to how good it is. That's not to imply class AB is not also good. The point is, pick features not...

John Atkinson's of Stereophile Talks About Measurements

I haven't watched it. Was he saying different cables sound different or that they are different from wireless?

John Atkinson's of Stereophile Talks About Measurements

I don't know any musicians - especially jazz players - who don't spend time listening to other players live and recorded. To say they don't know what their instrument sounds like is ludicrous.

    AudioQuest Wind High-end Cable Review

The first step is to try repeating the audio testing in a true double blind method. If that's too hard to pull off get a friend to help and at a minimum keep the cable direction hidden from you. Ideally you would randomly label them (end a, b, c. d) and hide any markings. Then have the friend...

    AudioQuest Wind High-end Cable Review

When you can do this in a double blind level matched test... We will care. Until then don't expect anyone to listen to your claimed super hearing. It is objectively true that in controlled tests people are terrible at hearing differences. Confirmation bias is a real thing and I know because I...

    AudioQuest Wind High-end Cable Review

I remember those ads and explanations. Glad to finally know that it was bunk. I never bought into it, but it seemed plausible to me at the time. Where was my brain?

    AudioQuest Wind High-end Cable Review

Oh and does anyone here remember the THIN speaker wire craze that came out of Europe in the late 80s or early 90s? It was crazy. Even blind comparisons showed preferences for the thin cable with some speakers (mostly mini monitor style). My recollection is that the long runs of cable were...

    AudioQuest Wind High-end Cable Review

Years ago a buddy of mine got fed up with speaker wire wars. He mounted copper pipes to his wall behind his system, soldered heavy copper wire to each at the amp end and at the speaker end. My own way of getting a fun tweak on cable believers is using old Monster Cable power cabling (from...

22 channel Soundstorm prepro to be installed what amps do you recommend?

@amirm in your review of the a800 you said, "Don't use it on sensitive speakers you may hear some hiss (although turning down the gain may help some)." It isn't clear what you consider a "sensitive" speaker, is there a rough guide in efficiency rating that would be where you would worry this...
