[GUIDE] How to use Equalizer APO (PEQ) presets in Linux

Just use JamesDSP (it's available for Android and Linux - both pipewire and pulseaudio). It has built in database of all public eq corrections - just pick your headphones from a list and choose a correction and you are done. There is nothing more convenient than this.

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

Fair point. I don't get it and I don't know how where to find more easily understandable info about it. I'm just sceptical until proven otherwise that's all. You should understand it, because after all, we are talking about audio world here on the forum that was founded on strong empirical premises.

    Genelec vs Neumann monitors

GLM seems more feature complete compared to MA-1 (supports immersive setups and multiple subs). Genelec has point source designs. It is possible Neumann supports some of these as well but there is no mention of it. Genelec generally has an edge IMO but also is more expensive. Does that even...

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

Yeah, that is trivial one time thing. Still it could be automated because GLM knows how many subs there are. Subs are corrected by GLM indivdually to correct for their placement in the room among other things. DLBC needs to verified by independent test if it is anything but snake oil. This...

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

https://www.genelec.com/en/-/6-steps-to-creating-your-sonic-reference-step-3-glm-advanced-features If you calibrate eq and phase correct at listening position every sub by itself (which is what GLM does) then all what you are left with is the SPL boost from multiple subs playing together which...

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

https://www.genelec.com/yoursonicreference This is the link I posted earlier with their free online glm4 training. Gets through all the features. My understandig of why dips aren't being corrected is because correction will drastically lower peak SPL performance of the speaker. You are supposed...

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

From what I see Dirac Live Bass Control doesn't do anything more than GLM does in single or even in multi sub scenario. What do you lack in GLM as compared to Dirac or Audyssey? SFM is probably patented so nobody but Harman can use it.

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

How's GLM4 basic compared to Dirac? If anything it is the other way around.

New Neumann MA 1 - Automatic Monitor Alignment

It's way too basic compared to GLM4. https://www.genelec.com/yoursonicreference

Genelec 8030C with Dirac Vs 8330A with GLM

I don't have time to find those posts again, but to me it was pretty much straight forward answer. They have their own stuff for bass management which supposedly work well, but it is not one-click solution (first you do BM and then Dirac calibrates the resulting full range "virtual" speaker)...

Genelec 8030C with Dirac Vs 8330A with GLM

Seems like Genelec will release GLM4 this year. I have found following document for GLM4: https://assets.ctfassets.net/4zjnzn055a4v/2mo1cMeyxu3Hy9MYPoUH0y/f91b32d6fb10bf0b2a9c01c6aa8419fa/GLM4_QuickSetupGuide__2020-07-02_.pdf It seems it automatically calibrates phase and frequency response for...

    USB to AES/EBU: the solution?

Cheapest solution is to use your onboard soundcard or as cheap as possible usb to spdif coax soudcard and use appropriate cables. If your motherboard has built in SPDIF Coax then: https://www.thomann.de/intl/pro_snake_aes_ebu_spdif_cable_male_3.htm. If it has built in Optical Toslink then add...

Genelec 8030C with Dirac Vs 8330A with GLM

A lot more info about subs on the Genelec site in the actual sub product page https://www.genelec.com/7350a#section-downloads I don't know that either, but I doubt this is not the case. I mean these guys install professional installations with multiple subs all the time for famous people. I...

Genelec 8030C with Dirac Vs 8330A with GLM

GLM does fantastic automatic bass management with multiple genelec subs (up to 30 monitors or subwoofers total). No idea if any box supporting Dirac does this and no idea if Dirac software for PC does this. It would be best if you read GLM manual from Genelec website where you will find all the...

Review and Measurements of Yamaha WXA-50 Streaming Amp

AVRs are too big. I want something small for my desk for 2.1 or 2.2 desktop setup. SHD Power is way too expensive.

Review and Measurements of Yamaha WXA-50 Streaming Amp

I have a question about subwoofer management. Is it possible to specify cut off point for low frequencies (eg 80 Hz) so that main speakers don't play below these frequencies? Can it be customized (eg in steps of 10Hz)?
