A pmOS port would be nice, but mainline support for the SD835 seems lacking. The SD845 is rather well supported however, someone with a V35/V40 might have better luck.

It's the original, without the housing, put into whatever the seller can use as a housing for it.

LG dumped them when they discontinued the product. Some time later the DAC board surfaced, then after that the USB-C board, but not the housing. So the people selling these had to make their own housing.

This thing is more like $20 actually. Probably fine when used with a phone.

What measurements, done why whom? This wasn't the case with the S8 afaik.

That has kinda fallen out of fashion over time, a lot of these controllers are updateable now.

Considering they use the same USB interface, it would be nice if the non-Pro can be updated to use the Pro's firmware (officially or not).

His S8 is the snapdragon version though, while most of the world got the Exynos version.

Wrong. My X260 does have one. The newer, slimmer ones starting from the X280 don't though.

If you already have a computer why not just dual boot? If not you can just pick up a cheap used thinkpad. Maybe a X240 if you want something small. Also if you want HP you want EliteBooks not ProBooks. Not all Latitudes/ThinkPads are good either.

I'll put in another vote for the Meizu dongle. The Pro version is twice the price but has a braided cable.
