    AXPONA 2026: SVS

This was an Atmos track as I first noticed the right rear height channel. It sounded very bizarre to me (the mix, not the speakers).

    AXPONA 2026: Perlisten

Told you Chris Jones used to get a lot of play: Volume was low unfortunately so my impression was just "OK" Classic demo track: Same verdict.
  3. amirm

    AXPONA 2026: Emotiva

Rarely a good idea to play video at these shows: No audio samples.
  4. amirm

    AXPONA 2026: Electrocompaniet

    No audio samples.

    AXPONA 2026: MSB

MSB in past shows put on great demos. That didn't seem to be the case this time in my brief visit: Sounded OK.

    AXPONA 2026: Quad

Pleasant. This now tired track, makes many systems sound good. And did so here too. Nice details in the voices and nicely layered overall.

    AXPONA 2026: TAD

TAD room was noisy with folks talking and such so not a good experience: Sounded "OK."

    AXPONA 2026: Mofi

No music. Just some pictures: These Rose streamers were everywhere. Fast and nice looking UI. Cost is over $5,000 though!

    AXPONA 2026: PMC Speakers

This is the PMC's entry level bookshelf, the prophecy1 ($4,299): With every bass note, the table behind me rattled (triggered by those subs?). I mentioned this to the exhibitor and while he acknowledged it, he didn't do anything about it. :( Oh well. Reason enough to leave after this song....

    AXPONA 2026: Daveialet Phantom

In the past, I have heard the Phantoms playing casually in open halls and such. This was the first time in a room: It was startling at times how loud and deep these speakers play! Sounded OK. Very cool track. Incredible dynamics. Sounds superb on my headphones as well. Incredible...

    AXPONA 2026: Magnepan Speakers

They had two sets of speakers here. What was playing were these DSP ones (VPE Elevon) when I walked in: It sounded good but one of the persons there manning the suite saw my "press" pass and assumed I wanted to hear the Magnepan 1.7X. So the room was turned around to do so: As you see, I...

    AXPONA 2026: DeVore Fidelity

These speakers are fixture at audio shows: There is that "forest" diffuser again. :( No music capture.

    AXPONA 2026: Odyssey Amps,

I hate this room. He always comes lighting it with all those candles. The scent gives me a headache. In the past, I have sat in there but this time, couldn't handle it. Just took the picture and walked out.

    AXPONA 2026: Treehaus Audiolab

When folks say "tree house," you better believe it: Those large slabs bring at tear to this woodworker's eyes. Trees of joy that is. Alas, not a fan of how they cut holes for each speaker. $32K cost is actually not bad for what goes into them. The electronics were no less exotic: Where...

    AXPONA 2026: Vandersteen Speakers

They are kind of angular and my wide angle lens made them more so. Sounded OK. On my headphones is sounds better.
  16. amirm

    AXPONA 2026: MADO SPeakers

Don't know what to say about this display: Yes, the tubes are directional tweeters of some sort you can align. As you can tell, I could not get a seat so left.
  17. amirm

    AXPONA 2026: Linkwitz Speakers

They had two rooms. In one with above speaker, they were just talking to a crowded room. This is the one I listened to briefly: Very tired demo track: Sounded nice but flat soundstage.
  18. amirm

    AXPONA 2026: Morel Speakers

They were playing the little speakers ("Biggie") with a handle. They had incredible bass!
  19. amirm

    AXPONA 2026: MBL Speakers

It wouldn't be an audio show without MBL: Nice but amorphous soundstage.

    AXPONA 2026: Avantgrade Grimm

These massive horns always make an impression. LP. Pops and clicks. Large center vocal (actual album in the picture): Same staging as above. Wonder if it makes everything sound grand this way or just these tracks.
