On the Distortion of Cirrus Logic CS431xx-Based Devices: A Comparative Review

I'm pretty sure the Dawn Pro has a NOS mode. When the LED indicator blinks twice, it goes into a "Default" mode where you see that no filter is selected in the app. So this dongle DAC can avoid the Cirrus Hump.

Qudelix-5K Bluetooth DAC & Headphone Amp

Yeah, I asked the question there as well. And they responded to it. It seems plausible, the idea of the notification sounds triggering a "Malfunction" could make sense. Since I have come back after 20 minutes only to find that my music is unpaused and has gone through multiple tracks, or I am...

Qudelix-5K Bluetooth DAC & Headphone Amp

Why is that when using Bluetooth while two devices(a Mac and an iPhone) are connected at the same time, content on one or the other will randomly unpause without any prompt from me to do so? I assume this is a bug. I reached out to Qudelix Customer Support 2 days ago, still waiting for a response.

On the Distortion of Cirrus Logic CS431xx-Based Devices: A Comparative Review

I own some too, waiting patiently to see test results for the FiiO K11, if it does then I'm going to steer clear of CL powered DACs in general for now.

Does anyone know what's in this Ugreen dac?

Audio Midi is the interface, Apple Music what I use to stream.

Does anyone know what's in this Ugreen dac?

I own the exact DAC OP showed. It maxes out at 24/96 on my Mac, which is strange. It I'm curious how you have so many options here. I bought the exact same model(25836) and can only select 44.1kHz, or 96kHz.

Does anybody know which DAC chip the UGREEN "HiFi Audio" USB-C to 3.5MM dongle uses?

Hmmm, the KT0210 seems to only support 24/96kHz, which is in the cheaper model. This dongle DAC I have goes up to 32/384kHz. Edit: There seems to be different iterations of the same dongle. Some actually have the CS43131, mine is a KT0210. Thanks for the answer!

Does anybody know which DAC chip the UGREEN "HiFi Audio" USB-C to 3.5MM dongle uses?

Another thread is already open, but it was inconclusive, as they provided the DAC chip for the slightly cheaper model, not this one. This dongle gives me similar audio output levels when compared to the North American Apple dongle. So it is probably around 1V RMS.

On the Distortion of Cirrus Logic CS431xx-Based Devices: A Comparative Review

The FiiO K11 seems to be very popular. I am wondering if it has this same issue. Also, could the same DAC, such as the Moondrop Dawn Pro or any other have the issue in one unit, but not another?

Is Keeping A Headphone Plugged In When Powering On/Off A Headphone Amplifier Safe?

This is something I have thought of. It's part of the entire reason I own cheap dongle DACs, as well as multiple cables per headphone, incase the cable end or the source end borks itself. Even though that won't realistically be a problem for a long time.

Is Keeping A Headphone Plugged In When Powering On/Off A Headphone Amplifier Safe?

I've done some proper yanking before! But that was due to my own tomfoolery from forgetting to set the volume to zero the last time I used my setup and switched to a more sensitive audio device.

Is Keeping A Headphone Plugged In When Powering On/Off A Headphone Amplifier Safe?

This is the 3rd time I've had a valid reason to buy one of those. Probably a good idea to measure and then get the answer right from the source(s). 3rd times the charm I guess.

Is Keeping A Headphone Plugged In When Powering On/Off A Headphone Amplifier Safe?

Funny enough, I did this the most often with my OTL tube amplifier, which I don't think has any such protection. But, I didn't even think it was an issue since nothing sounded "Wrong" as a result, just a very quiet thump that didn't even happen every time. That was until I saw the comment...

Is Keeping A Headphone Plugged In When Powering On/Off A Headphone Amplifier Safe?

Thanks for confirming. I've not done it too many times, and it doesn't sound like any damage has been done, but I will stop that habit now.

Is Keeping A Headphone Plugged In When Powering On/Off A Headphone Amplifier Safe?

Audio/headphone rookie here with a possibly repeated question, sorry in advance if that is the case. I never even thought that the title of this thread could be bad or not. So I thought I'd ask here. On both my solid state and tube amplifier, I plug in the headphone and then turn on the amp...

    Sennheiser HD800S Review (Headphone)

I have the opposite issue with fitment, the headphone just barely fits on my giant head. And ears slightly pushed to the bottom of the cup apparently only changes the sound "A little bit" Good enough for me I guess.

    Sennheiser HD800S Review (Headphone)

Yup, I do this. Otherwise, it does not fit. Do you know in what way the sound changes based on positional variations?
