    MOTU UltraLite-mk5 Review (Audio Interface)

Yep, doing exactly that using a Shelly smart socket. Works like a clock, especially with the latest DAC firmware.

    AsciLab F6Bs Speaker Review

Sorry for a maybe naive question, but I don't trust myself at reading the measurements correctly yet, so: how do these sealed speakers compare against sealed KEF R3 Metas? Seems like the Metas have a somewhat flatter HF, and the rest of the differences can be eq'd out? And in return F6Bs have a...

    Dual-subwoofer tradeoffs for DSP integration

I'm not an expert in REW, but I think I do know what I'm doing. At least I know enough to start evaluating Acourate this week :) The primary motivation is saving time, because I keep coming up with ideas I want to test, and doing everything manually quickly becomes tedious. If I can interate...

    Dual-subwoofer tradeoffs for DSP integration

I actually am planning to do that this weekend, although was hoping that REW and rePhase will suffice to get a feeling of the combined result. My current sub is not particularly special though (Canton SUB 650), so replacing it might make sense regardless of the simulation results.

    Dual-subwoofer tradeoffs for DSP integration

Thanks everyone for additional details and refinements, I've seen them in different discussions here and there, but it really helps to have everything important summed up in one place. I do understand that the better positioning can give the most benefits, but physical space is very limited in...

    Dual-subwoofer tradeoffs for DSP integration

The distance between the subs would be at least 1.5m, and the room is very asymmetrical, so acoustically the spots are very different. Besides, putting them next to corresponding mains allows to use linear-phase crossovers. (or so I read) Oh, and I'm all for getting better subs, as long as they...

    Dual-subwoofer tradeoffs for DSP integration

I'm trying to pick a subwoofer model to buy two of them, and run co-located with two mains (which are yet to be chosen later, when the subs are dealt with). I have an intermediate understanding of FIR-based DSP correction using REW and rePhase, as well as many hours of practical experience...

    Time Alignment with Wavelets

Sorry for maybe asking something very obvious, but where in this example does the initial energy build-up end, and the impulse starts? The zero-crossing right before the first large positive peak?

    Time Alignment with Wavelets

It should be possible to pass the signal through the convolver and output it to a file once, then use that as a reference shape? Admittedly, less convenient, but still possible.

Dump everything you know about HDMI eARC here

Sorry, I didn't make any photos back then, and now everything's assembled, so there is not much to see. But connecting the lanes is quite straightforward, as long as you have a datasheet for one of the chips (was linked somewhere in this thread) and a digital multimeter to test the connections.

Multichannel audio on a Pi will get a whole lot easier and cheaper!

Multichannel audio on a Pi will get a whole lot easier and cheaper!

It's just an audio track extracted from any .mkv containing Atmos, there should be plenty of that available online with varying degrees of license violation. Or do I miss some conceptual problem somewhere?

Dump everything you know about HDMI eARC here

From the link above: So unless I'm missing something, it won't give any benefits over the extractor mentioned in the first post.

Dump everything you know about HDMI eARC here

Atmos metadata is the whole other thing, that is kind of separate from just decoding the audio. I'm not aware of any solution that would allow to decode the object metadata, ffmpeg certainly can't do that.

3e Audio A5 Stereo Amplifier Review

No, for me it works exactly as described in the quoted post. Try disconnecting the wiim and see if the amp turns off after 20 minutes?

3e Audio A5 Stereo Amplifier Review

Sorry for a yet another kind of off-topic question, but I don't really have a feeling for it, so here goes: A7 with the 48V5A power supply, subwoofer crossed over at ~80hz, Canton Ergo 690 DC speakers (4-8 Ohm, 88.3 dB at 2.83V/1m). Is it correct to assume that since the amp does not have to...

Having troubles integrating subwoofer with REW

Why 75Hz specifically? Is this a more or less arbitrary frequency, or was it deliberately chosen to be below the crossover frequency?

Having troubles integrating subwoofer with REW

I ended up with the crossover at 82hz and FIR filters made according to this guide (1/A of a minimal phase version, up to 225hz). Left channel seems good, the right is quite messy, but I don't think anything can be done about that due to the room geometry and lack of options for speaker...

Having troubles integrating subwoofer with REW

Thanks for the replies. The sub stands right next to the speaker and I was using the acoustic time reference, so I also was surprised by the large group delay, but didn't know what to do about it. I don't know what exactly was causing it, but after reducing the 44 Hz peak and re-matching the...
