    Moondrop May USB-C Headphones Review

Recently I completed fine tuning my latest IEM preference target curve, I call it EITC-25. I have tuned my Moondrop MAY to EITC-25, it sounds better than my previous target EITC-2021. Big thanks to Moondrop the uploaded EQ for EITC-25 has been listed in the "Featured EQ list" in the MOONDROP...

    Moondrop Lab

Has anyone tried MOONDROP FreeDSP PRO? https://moondroplab.com/en/products/freedsp-pro I use MOONDROP FreeDSP and not very satisfied with the rough integer level EQ adjustment. I'm curious if MOONDROP FreeDSP PRO has improved the parametric equalizer and allow 0.1 dB adjustment. I do feel the...

Do premium IEMs sound better than entry level ones?

Yes, ~2 dB excess, similar to my observation as well. My latest preference target curve (EITC-25) is set with +9 dB ear gain (from the midrange dip), as compared to the Harman IE 2019 target that has around +11 dB ear gain. Other good sounding IEMs that on my measurement showing around ~9 dB...

If you EQ your headphones and you own more than one, do you EQ them to the same target?

Few reasons why I have more than one IEMs or Headphones: 1. Found model that sounds 'better'. 2. Appreciation of certain tuning / sound signature. 3. Learning to relate of what I hear and what is shown on my measurement. 4. Searching of IEM that sounds closest to my balanced target curve. I...

    THIEAUDIO HYPE 10

Right, I haven't spent enough time with it, probably less than an hour, but initial impressions is quite positive :) The 3kHz ear gain is less than typical Harman tuned IEMs. Less shouty and sounds more correct to my ears. The bass slightly north of my balanced target, not too much, quite a...

    What IEMs do you own?

I just got my Kiwi Ears KE4 last week. Haven't got much time to use it. I've used it probably less than an hour, listening to some vocals and my test tracks. Quite a nice tuning, not exactly close to my preferred target of balanced tuning, but it is quite nice for vocal. Vocal sounds clear with...

    Storage IEMs In-Ears

I can only say from experience. Don't worry about the IEM's driver. From my experience driver is quite lasting and durable. IEM cable is the weakest part of the IEM. And if you use it everyday, basically there is nothing you can do. Just keep it clean and dry.

    Storage IEMs In-Ears

I'm curious why do you ask such questions? Why do you need your KZ EDX Pro and KZ EDC Pro to last for 10 years or more? As for temperature and humidity, I clearly put my location information, Singapore. Hot and very humid country. You can Google it if it is similar to your place.

    Storage IEMs In-Ears

No, Probably not. The KZ ATE cable is still fine after 10 years. Not all cables are fragile. Depends on the cable jacket material. Why you keep mentioning the dynamic drivers and diaphragm? I never have any dynamic driver that spoil even after 10 years.

    Storage IEMs In-Ears

I have some IEMs over a decade old. So far no problem with the drivers. Both dynamic drivers and BA drivers sound just fine even after over a decade old. This KZ ATE bought in 2015, so about a decade old, sound just fine till today. I saw your other post, if you curious of the Silicone ear...

Kiwi Ears Cadenza - IEM Review

Yes, that's correct! I consider Harman target as V-shape or mildly V-shape tuning. The recessed mids and the sparkly treble are the areas that I feel make it sounds V-shape to me. While for the bass, I love it! Basically I like V-shape tuning, it is not a bad thing for me. But what sounds...

Kiwi Ears Cadenza - IEM Review

As conversed in PM, my stand has been clarified. I can clarify the intention for using "in its price range". Price or price range is used only to asses the value for the recommendation. For the same sound quality, in this price range of sub $50, it is an easy recommendation. But if it is...

Kiwi Ears Cadenza - IEM Review

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored review. A friend kindly loaned me the Kiwi Ears Cadenza IEM for a week. After spending time with it, both through listening and measurement, I found it to be quite impressive and wanted to share my one-week experience. In its price range, the Kiwi Ears...

    Iem upgrade - next level

For Kiwi Ears Airoso, it seems even DAC Amp with 2 ohms output impedance will attenuate the upper treble significantly.

    Iem upgrade - next level

I think I found out the reason why Kiwi Ears Airoso is prone to loosing the upper treble extension. The impedance curve is terrible, it is started to drop below 2 ohms at 8kHz onward. So if the headphone amp is not capable enough to handle impedance below 2 ohms, the upper treble response will...

Laid back, relaxed iem recommendation under 100

Change ear tip might help a bit with the 8kHz peak. I notice the flexible bore type like the SpinFit CP100 or AudioSense S400 tends to shift the 8kHz peak higher and make it less noticeable. I usually use the AudioSense S400 as it is cheaper than CP100 with more or less the same effect. Here is...
