I heard this too. I found a cheap Neutrik converter on Ebay so it was more of a precaution since Genelec themselves recommend an impedance converter.

Thought i'd chime in and say that there are still a few modern designs still available for sale. I for one am very happy with my MTM front consisting of XTZ Cinema M8 Towers + Center I'm just an amateur so couldn't say if it's because of the MTM design or not.. but it's the best sounding...

Was contemplating LS50 Metas when i purchased new speakers a few weeks ago.. interestingly they perform similar to the Revel M16s that i ended up with. I'm happy i didn't spend twice as much to get these! They do look good, but the Revels are no slouches in that regard either.

I wanted to come back and confirm that my "garbled sound / extreme volume"-issue is gone since i switched from USB to BT. Cabling or USB issue? Not sure. I will swap to Toslink/Optical once i get a switch (my Sennheiser RS-185s is occupying the single one i use from my PC currently..)
