Thank you for this excellent write up. I cherish my DCD-3520. It's a joy to use and sounds fantastic. I used it direct out from XLR to a set of Neumann KH310s for a quite a while and was very happy with it. Detail improved when I added the Eversolo dmp-a8 as a DAC and pre - but not by a whole lot.

I have the SACD and LP and prefer the LP. The digital version of "Frederick Fennell conducts the music of Leroy Anderson" is absolutely cracking in that format though. The joys of light music couldn't be any better represented.

Sold new for $1,665.00 in June 23, with a 5 month wait time, now selling for $2635 (with a MSRP of $3160) and presumably a continued long wait time. "Industry" users would be up the creek waiting for a replacement.
