    Sonos 9.1.4 Theater Mini-Review

A soundbar can't image. So... this thread is kind of a waste of time lol. If your system can't image in home theater or music playback, you can't point to in space where instruments or sound effects Infront of you are, or in movies, where dialogue comes from the accurate location on the screen...

Onkyo TX-RZ50 Review (Home Theater AVR)

My unit clicks all the time. I'm also running very difficult speakers, impedance wise, and difficult speaker sensitive speakers as well. Martin logan efx for L and R, impedance drops to 2 ohm. 6 Monoprice satellite coaxial for side and rear surround, and 2 for atmos. These are like 80db...

Dirac Live right-shifted soundstage due to added delay on right channel

Pink noise didn't work for me. Music with dynamic frequency range constantly happening with vocal heavy helped me center the stereo image. I used a phone app, not the most accuracy, as well as a SPL meter capable of A and C weight accurate to the first decimal point - it didn't help...

Dirac Live right-shifted soundstage due to added delay on right channel

Hey man. What a coincecdence I see this post. I litreally just solved this issue, and I was having this issue for over 2 months. I thought it was my speakers to be honest... I had just upgraded from kef ls50 meta to martin logan electrostats, and when I plugged my new speakers in, ran dirac, it...

    "Best" mic for Dirac Live

Thank you... I've always HATED how long it takes to do a dirac setup. I will try this next time I have to do one, and skip the mic boom, and maybe even look forward towards doing it lol.

Onkyo TX-RZ50 Review (Home Theater AVR)

How can a rz30 with parallel sub outs get dlbc when rz50 doesn't even have it... How is dlbc going to do each sub differently when that's impossible. And I just read a post dirac got rid of 1 of the dlbc subwoofer purchase options and price of the license came down by a bit. Is rz50 going to...

Modern Class D amplifier recommendation for ML electostats?

Very good exhaustive list for me to choose from, thank you. Has stuff I am missing too. Should I be filtering that list down to amps that double twice in power compared to their 8 ohm performance?

Modern Class D amplifier recommendation for ML electostats?

I saw that too, didn't bother adding it because I feel like those would be what someone with the ML Renaissance 15A would need. Crazy crazy performance.

Modern Class D amplifier recommendation for ML electostats?

I need some recommendations for a class D amp for my Martin Logan EFX electrostatic speakers. I found impedence charts of the ML electrostats, and they begin to dip starting at 1kHz. At 3kHz, they are at 4 ohm, and at 10kHz, they are ~1.8 ohm, and at 20kHz they are less than 1 ohm. ML...

KEF R11 Meta Tower Speaker Review

Makes sense for music. But for a movie, which reference level being at about 105 db, and sitting about 3 to 4 meters away... I'd really like to know if 1) the kef tweeter can keep up at 105 vs the 102 and at that long distance 2) for how long? Tweeter drive system will probably overheat and...

KEF R11 Meta Tower Speaker Review

Can the r11's tweeter performance keep up with the dynamics of a compression driver tweeter such as the jbl hdi 3800? Is 102 db really enough to test tweeter compression, or should you go higher? I have the ls50 meta, and I'm planning my next upgrade, but just really worried about...

    KEF Ci200RR-THX In-ceiling/In-Wall Speaker Review

What makes a ceiling CI speaker different than in wall CI. Their in wall, they don't recommend the same wall joist, so same baffle to be shared between two speakers. They have pictures showing to avoid 2 in walls in same wall joint. So how is it that 2 or 4 ceilings get to share that baffle...

Dirac ART is now running on beta FW for Denon Xx800H AVRs!

What kind of amp do you guys think is truly needed to run ART? From my understanding, all speakers become full range, and if the speakers are about 4 ohm nominal (most ht speakers are), I think we're entering a new age of amplifier demand to run ART properly. I'm thinking these hypex based...

NAD M28 Seven Channel Power Amplifier Review

Hows your amp10? With dirac ART coming soon, I'm looking for an amp that can run kef in walls full range, for full dirac ART performance. M28 was on the list, but I don't think I can deal with the warranty issues as some others are having. Marantz amp 10 is their reference gear with 5 year...

    New Kef in wall speakers

A couple months ago, there were pictures teased of the black ls60 and we all thought it was a brand new speaker. Kef bamboozled us. Yesterday, ever so quietly they launched a new version of their R- series in wall, 3160 (R7 equivalent?) and 5160 (R11 equivalent?) with META. In Canada, the 3160...

Onkyo TX-RZ50 Review (Home Theater AVR)

Setting it to 4 ohm mode is anti productive. It's actually a protection setting rather than a high power setting. Jon from ripewave audio tested this. Even if you have 4 ohm nominal speakers, set it on 8 ohm mode on the receiver.

New Hi Fi system is bright :(

A lot of people here are talking way too much about the speakers measurements and the room. Yes, those things influence, but the main problem OP has is he is missing a subwoofer. When you put a proper 20hz capable sub in the mix, it fills out the lower octaves, and you will not experience the...

    Subwoofer Comparison

"Why not have a third or even fourth" I've thought about this too, because I will be evolving the system to eventually 4 subs. More so because the new denon receivers have directional bass. But when you add 3 more subwoofers to an already beast 1, you add headroom/SPL in the 1 hZ to the 10hZ...
