    What is group delay?

Pretty good example of the more detail you add, the muddier your explanation gets.

    What is group delay?

Perfect as in "made up". Here's Focal Celestee on this forum measured with 0ms group delay at 50hz https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/focal-celestee-review-headphone.21917/ Amir calls out the cups as a source of group delay here...

    What is group delay?

This thread is still the first result in Google for "headphone group delay" so I think it's still significant to have an actual ELI5 answer. This thread is hilarious to stumble across. Once you understand group delay, it's funny to go back through the thread and see where people are technically...

Dan Clark Stealth Review (State of the Art Headphone)

Please pay attention to the replies in this thread. This fix doesn't work, and also this is the only brand of headphones where something like this is a problem. It's not acceptable for the price point the headphones are sold at. This is why I'm not buying headphones priced at $4,000, no matter...

Dan Clark Stealth Review (State of the Art Headphone)

Only sometimes and if you catch it early. I'm on my second pads and no amount of fiddling undoes the twisting. Other forum members have confirmed the same.

Dan Clark Stealth Review (State of the Art Headphone)

It's bonkers to me that you can see the twisting of the foam under the pads already on a brand new model, the same irreversible affliction of the Aeons. Expand the in-box image, you can see the twisting on the right pad near the top of the image. How can a $4,000 headphone have pads that...

Dan Clark Stealth Review (State of the Art Headphone)

I tried that for a long time, it didn't do anything. It doesn't seem to have an effect on my newer pad degradation either. I also personally dislike that the foam covers require any kind of special massaging not to prematurely fatigue.

Dan Clark Stealth Review (State of the Art Headphone)

Welp looks like I'm going to get another dent in my bank account. I wish Dan Clark would hire different designers, for $4,000 these don't visually look like premium headphones. The red stitching isn't a good color choice and reminds me of the look of $30 Superlux headphones. I get what he's...

    Focal Clear Review (headphone)

I am curious if: - The screenshot or the text is wrong - If the listening tests were done in error, and if they weren't, what happened in the screenshot?

    Focal Clear Review (headphone)

I have the Clears and I'm trying to match the EQ settings you have. The screenshot of the EQ you have shows an increase in the peak at 11.3khz. Am I missing something?

Chord Hugo M Scaler - Stereophile Review (measurements also)

In response to my original question, where I'm wondering about why I can hear an audible difference in the above video, between the engaged/passthrough audio of the M Scaler I do appreciate you saying this. I still seek explanations, even if they end up with "yes this really is garbage snake...

Chord Hugo M Scaler - Stereophile Review (measurements also)

There was also apparently a brief discussion of this in 2016 https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/more-taps-for-digital-bliss.260/ Here's Robb Watt's presentation from CanJam 2018: At 10:05 I think he's arguing that the transient response can be blunted by sample...

Chord Hugo M Scaler - Stereophile Review (measurements also)

I don't think I've seen anyone mention this video yet. There are some others like it. What do you make of it? I believe I can hear an audible difference between the Hugo M Scalar in passthrough vs active mode. I could also be falling for sighted test bias too. I don't see any reason for this...
