    Yes, you are right. My current connector is balanced on both sides, while it has to be unbalanced on the 3.5 side. However, I haven’t found a connector yet which has unbalanced on the 3.5 side. Most adverts don’t mention it specifically. It is not that important as I just use the 6.35 mm jack.

    Using unbalanced output gives plenty of juice, also at 0.0 dB setting, but balanced is a pita. The SPL is even less than the PC’s output jack.

    Hmm, but the output is related to that, because I still have the same issue when I put up the volume. The volume knob can’t be moved further than half way at -20dB, which is the same SPL as directly from the mini PC’s output jack. Any thoughts?

    So that’s it The output signal of the D50 was too high. It was set to 0.0 dB, now changed to -20.0 dB and it’s fine. Apparently not used to work with DAC’s..

    One addition, when I do the test in windows (system - sound - properties) the A50 clicks immediately, so the issue is fed by the DAC. To be continued..
