    KEF Q Meta is Coming

I guess this also depends on how far away you are from the speakers. Some people even use this KEF 3-way bookshelves nearfield. Also interesting if there is height information in good recordings that is audible; a good point-source might do this better, but then this would be an advantage of...

    KEF Q Meta is Coming

Interesting.. Interesting too! :) And hope you'll have fun. Btw, could it be a good idea if this thread would be merged in the white paper thread?

Master Thread: Are Measurements Everything or Nothing?

Seems logical too, if you consider our hearing being tuned to reality.. but can be influenced by what we see. But registered sounds coming out of boxes is not 'realistic', so maybe our brains get confused in a way, more so if we see them.

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

There are just so many explanations thinkable, apart from sound quality. Like @antcollinet wrote, not enraged. But this story give the impression of meaning to point in the direction of 'proof that vinyl sounds better'. Hope that Linda and you are not enraged as well! :)

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

Could it be that she knows that you have / listen to different music on vinyl than on digital sources and possibly what music that is? And it would have been the same if that (beautifull old Decca) records would have been digitalized?

KEF Q Series with MAT Whitepaper

I think it must be 6.5". You can compare pictures with the Q Concerto or the larger models: All 6.5" and the same cabinet width, the same distance to the cabinet edges, etc..

    KEF Q Meta is Coming

Yes, when you point the R3(meta)'s at your ears. You can make them less bright/neutral[/sweet(?)] by toeing them out and at the same time get more side wall reflections. This has a smaller effect on the Concerto's tonality, because their near constant directivity, but it looks like they are not...

    KEF Q Meta is Coming

Erin's reviews allways come later on his own site, I guess because he does the written part after recording the video review, witch is on youtube and on page 14 of this thread, post 280, on the bottom of the page...

KEF Q Series with MAT Whitepaper

I guess when a manufacturer would compete with himself he would compete with other brands as well. I wouldn't know how these things work, but they also determine a price for every product, of course. And timing of when a product (series) is brought to the market could play a role. I meant...

    Kef R3 META, digital crossover?

I've managed it once with the black or. R3 with a 'precision screwdriver' as a lever, very carefull of course. It left a 'precision dent' on the baffle, a 'dentety dent', only visible with close inspection. I guess your enterprise will be very difficult; good luck! I must say I think the R3...

KEF Q Series with MAT Whitepaper

For someone who is new to it, it's a good thing to first read this https://www.spinorama.org/help.html page, with short but very clear explanations, info and links. An example of what you can find there: 'Generally precision depends on the quality of the input data. If you want to compare 2...

Well I really wouldn't know, they made an awful lot of amps through the years. https://www.opusklassiek.nl/audio/audio-aw/philipsfa951.htm Maybe this one, but it's from 1994. They made some heavier ones. In general their amps were just/pretty good. like a lot of brands.:) I have two old ones...

When I was about 16 years old, in the early eighties, I earned some money by helping a farmer fetching hay (complete with nice tractor driving) so I could buy my first two-way speakers, Philips plastic 14 litre with real hifi emblems on the grilles:cool:, second hand for 100 guilders (now...

    Audio Note speakers

I find the topic of this thread very suitable to go off topic. ;) The thread was brought back to life a week ago by an... astonishing post by @Ro808, after that I found it rather interesting at times, sometimes amusing, sometimes somewhat My class-D amp sounds lifeless and boring indeed, when...

    Audio Note speakers

That's allright for them of course, but couldn't it be that there are more people that listen to a great variety of music, radio programms, etc. and that the average sound of all that would be about neutral on about neutral speakers? And when producers and engineers try to make a good...

    Audio Note speakers

What is so nice about good, neutral speakers, is that you can forget about them. Just listen to music. Most recordings, broadcasts will sound just fine. Especially when you care about the sound, it's such a good thing if you can 'forget your gear' ass well (again). Instead of endless tweaking...
