    Nubert NuVero 60 Speaker Review

It is a pity their "nuForum" has been closed before this review came out. Many Nubert-fanboys active at that online community had been outraged at the results of Nuberts ampX on ASR, even posting conspiracy theories about shipping the device to the US being a stunt by competitors or throwing...

    NAD M10 Streaming Amplifier Review

My first M10 failed with a power supply problem, too. After updating its firmware first the display would not show any picture, with only the background lighting coming alive. The unit could still be controlled via app just fine. About two days later it made a bang and presumably the power...

    Hegel H95 Review (Streaming Amplifier)

When searching for my current setup I found Hegel to be an interesting option for all-in-one stereos. Did stay away from it in the end and now am glad I did not buy ist, seeing this type of performance. Thenak you very much for the review Amir and that you cover such a broad range of the industry.

    Bluesound Node Review (Streamer)

I used to own a Powernode 2i from Bluesound and have since upgraded to NAD M10, which fares better in Amir's review (albeit not perfect). The more expensive unit has a better feature set (Dirac, large touch control panel on the unit, Ncore instead of UcD amp with more power, ...). And of course...

    NAD M10 Streaming Amplifier Review

EDIT: deleted (posted on the wrong thread)

what are your industrial design favorites?

The design of Yamaha's classic line of medium sized separates, i.e. http://www.hifi-archiv.info/Yamaha/1996/a(3).jpg used to fascinate me when I was a teenager. The tray loading tape deck was something special and up till today I like this style, especially with All-in-one systems. T+A with...

    NAD M10 Streaming Amplifier Review

Thank you, I had missed this one so far. When I bought my Blusound Powernode it had not been released. At that time the M10 was on my shortlist but ultimately way too expensive, even though Dirac built in was tempting and pretty much the only option with it for a small one box solution.

    Linn AV5125 5-channel Amplifier Review

I very much like that Linn does things their own way, i.e. embracing music streaming early on when the rest of the high end folks still sniffed at it. Their pricing has kept me from getting any gear from them so far. Their production is mainly inhouse near Glasgow so high wages add to the bill...

Devialet Expert 200 Amplifier, DAC and Streamer Review

Having read most of this thread and some of the discussion over at the Devialet forum reminded me of Amir's test of the nuConnect amp. Both brands have a loyal fanbase and it is interesting that the arguments are similar regardless of the difference in price between the two.

Announcement: ASR Will Be Measuring Speakers!

I own speakers from Nubert and when they moved into an new building they have been very happy about their anechoic chamber. To keep the size and cost of it down they build it as a half-room (not sure if that is even an english word, but I have found no better translation for "Halbraum") doing...

Nubert nuConnect ampX Streaming Amp Review

Happy new year to everybody. When I first learned about Emotiva looking for a AV-Pre-Processor some years ago it seemed quite similar to Nubert as a company (mail order only, with the exception of two Nubert run stores) and their own equally active customer forum. You are propably referring to...

Nubert nuConnect ampX Streaming Amp Review

While technically monday and half of tuesday are working days, many employees in Germany have already started their holidays on friday, with a large number of them coming back the day after new year's day or extending it to January 6th next year. This is certainly true for our company, where...

Nubert nuConnect ampX Streaming Amp Review

You can decide for yourself which measurements you deem relevant and make your own conclusions. In any case these measurements provide a comparison of the gear applied to the same standard. And there are enough examples out there of amps that measure better, so it is not an impossible feat to...

Nubert nuConnect ampX Streaming Amp Review

I can understand them giving priority to a response on their own forum which supposedly is more important to their (potential) customers (they do not sell outside of Europe). In fact it is nice to see a company that actually reacts at all compared to the rest of the bunch at the same end of the...

Nubert nuConnect ampX Streaming Amp Review

The Problem with many of these reviews is that they describe how to use the device and list available features but include no measurements at all. They rely on stating the spec sheet. The included listening test cannot disclose how well a product is designed. There are of course exceptions that...

Nubert nuConnect ampX Streaming Amp Review

I was interested in the ampX and to be honest was surprised that it fared so bad. It'd be interesting to see if we will get an xplanation for this as someone (not me) already posted a link to this review on the board of Nubert and they are evaluating the measurements (see...

Audio Research D300 Power Amplifier Review

I did not know that this was available of the self, albeit at a hefty price. No wonder not many magazines own that type of equipment.

Audio Research D300 Power Amplifier Review

Yes, I am aware that some speakers are rather demanding on the amp. I think that some electrostatic ones do go as low as 1ohm if I remembered it correctly. One can just hope that persons buying high end stuff think about it before spending all that money. But then again other factors than...

Audio Research D300 Power Amplifier Review

Measurements will take up more time as 35 instead of just 2 data points are needed. I can only assume that the neccessary dummy loads capable of high power are the expensive parts?

Audio Research D300 Power Amplifier Review

In Germany (and iirc with IEC standards as well) it is required that speakers not dip below 80% of their nominal impedance. I.e. a 4ohm speaker should always stay above 3.2ohm over its whole frequency range. That is not to say that all speakers sold actually fulfill this requirements or are...
