Well Topping DX9 should have more than enough power.... Are you using it in balanced mode? It has more than 10W per channel... 47VPP... Flux Mentor doesn't have voltage numbers attached to it but it has slightly more output power vs the DX9.... around 10%.

I mean that you shouldn't have any problem with your headphone with the RAW-MDA1. You can of course add the Atom if you want.... but I believe it has less output than the unit you already have. Why would he want to sell what he has to buy something else with lower specs?

You shouldn't have any problem like this, something must be feeding to the DAC at a very low volume as the spec is 2.5W into 32Ohm.... there would be no reason your HD-650 cannot run on an Amp with so much power.

Great information, I wish information like this was actually published about various headphones. Would clear up alot of myths about how much power is required to use a headphone... I don't listen at these crazy loud volumes and as such I have never run out of power on an amp...

Sounds like your USB took a dump. Make sure you don't setup any future unit with anything tugging on the USB input. I killed the one on my DX7 Gen-1 with a tight USB cable that was tugged on one too many times :(
