No subwoofer output NAD M33 and Dirac Live

3.9.1 works with my M33, plus you now get the slider adjustment on the subs, which weren't there on 3.4.4

    Needledrop - Waveform asymmetry

Very likely the azimuth is off, or possibly anti-skate pulling the cartridge more strongly to one side. Or both. Can you adjust, or is it a plug-n-play type setup?

No subwoofer output NAD M33 and Dirac Live

I reached out to Dirac and they have a new beta 3.9.1 that is supposed to work too. They provided a link for the download, but I haven't yet tried it. I did rollback to 3.4.4 and that worked, so thanks for that advice!

No subwoofer output NAD M33 and Dirac Live

Just hit this problem today with a new M33. Using 3.8.2. The measurement process works just fine - subs are correctly measured. But once the filter is exported and the Dirac profile selected on the M33, the subs vanish  Those of you who solved this with 3.4.4, where are you these days...

Is 22kHz brickwall cut off audible? - Listening test

The ABX software obfuscates the files so you don't know which is which. Before making my first choice, I listened to determine what differences I could hear, and then latched on to those differences during ABX testing. The most obvious difference was the "hard/clinical" nature of one file vs...

Is 22kHz brickwall cut off audible? - Listening test

FWIW. The brickwalled file sounded "hard"/"clinical" to my ears, and so was easy enough to identify. Did 20 listens in 2 x 10 segments. Same results each time.

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

Because I'm struggling to understand my subjective experience. Vinyl is inferior. Digital is perfect. Yet, I *much* prefer vinyl for music replay because it SOUNDS superior to me. So I was simply laying out my thought process. Apologies if I offended the sensibilities of the digirati...

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

100%, yes. I rip all my vinyl the first time I play it at 192/24. When I play those files back on the same system they do not sound like the live replay of the vinyl.

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

Perhaps, but I don't think it's just that.

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

They have? Have I solved them? Even if I'm incorrect in suspecting digital issues in my system, subjectively, I still much prefer vinyl over digital replay.

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

You seem determined to score some petty point here. So, congrats, you win. Blocked. To restate my actual position: I prefer vinyl because of the sound quality. I am somewhat confounded by this, as I would expect digital to be superior. I am aware that digital has well known issues such as...

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

Because you are mischaracterising what I said, and so why would I?

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

Indeed. I’m open to all these being contributing possibilities. But I’m also open to the idea that vinyl actually sounds better in my system. That’s currently my experience. I’ve nothing to lose here - whether vinyl or digital is the better medium, I’m going to listen to what sounds better...

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

This is audioscience, is it not? The flaws with digital sampling/reconstruction are well understood. So let's not play games, and recognise that in attacking me you are trying to move the goalposts away from the topic of conversation which is WHY is there a renaissance in vinyl, not WHY...

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

Reread his post and dont recognise your characterisation of my response, however it’s possible I have indeed misread his post. You’ve decided that I have, so let’s leave it at that.

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

As you are clearly not interested in a good faith conversation, I won't reply to your many ad hominems. Instead, blocked.

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

This, I agree with. For me, digital has the *potential*, but the current implementation is flawed; mainly in the delivery and the reconstruction, but also in the original quantisation (particularly with 44.1). All areas which can impact final sound quality. Flawed enough that I prefer vinyl...

Can anyone explain the vinyl renaissance?

You should, as in this instance it's a false analogy.
