How to you test the mix results ? The one the radio like?.. the one to dance to? The one that sounds good on reasonable audio gear? Or in the car maybe? Most likely the one the recording company likes best.

Rode NTH-100 .. the only headphones i have found where using them to mix music translates well to a speaker.. interesting to see the response and why that works (for me).

If they are old and dusty a service that gently cleans the tape before digitising might be worth it.. Dolby on or not can be a question too.. if the heads are misaligned that wont track well either.

That is appalling.. Amirm I know it's been covered many timed before but of all the recordings I have made the LP master is the one sounding furthest from the day of the mix! I'm not sure it's a push for fidelity.. just a market opportunity.
