Subwoofer Crisis: Replace Velodyne DD18 or buy 2 new 12" (SVS, Rythmik, or...?)

Sorry, I meant via a pair of them. I should have made that more clear.

Subwoofer Crisis: Replace Velodyne DD18 or buy 2 new 12" (SVS, Rythmik, or...?)

I'd also recommend looking into the HSU VTF-3 Mk5. Would definitely have more output than the Velodyne and sound better doing it.

I will NEVER buy a neutral speaker again!

I bought a set of JBL 3622n's this week, and I far prefer them with no EQ and far from flat. Adding subwoofers will only make them closer to perfect.

Small footprint monitors for the desk: Price/Performance winner?

Also, LP-6v2s are my main monitors currently, and with Dirac, they sound great. I understand it might be easy to discount anything that doesn't cost $9000 for a pair, but these are devices for sound reproduction, not furniture.

Small footprint monitors for the desk: Price/Performance winner?

I own the LSR 305s and have heard the HS8's, with and without Dirac. Kali's are well designed for the money, period. Maybe stop gaslighting in a forum based on science? I would understand why you might have issues with IN series, but saying everything they make is useless is disingenous.

Small footprint monitors for the desk: Price/Performance winner?

Maybe get your ears tested. Kali's are reputable monitors with the data to back it up.

Small footprint monitors for the desk: Price/Performance winner?

I'd pick the IN-5s, personally. Having monitors with better extension for bass-centered music is ideal.

Need help choosing my first stereo system - €600/ $600 Budget

That is the one aspect about 305p that could be concerning based on your criteria (other than the things I mentioned about the upper bass/lower mids). The 305p have somewhat of an upward sloping response on-axis which makes them have closer to a flat response when placed in room, and listening...

Need help choosing my first stereo system - €600/ $600 Budget

They're pretty similar. If anything, the 305p actually measures worse than the original LSR305. To me, below 200hz, the Kalis sound a lot more natural. Less resonance from the enclosure and closer to what upper bass should sound like. And they're still pretty cheap. Probably the most accurate...

Need help choosing my first stereo system - €600/ $600 Budget

I have a set of the original 305s and the Kali LP-6v2's, and the Kali's are definitely better. I'd get those.

    Neumann KH 150 Monitor Review

All monitors have coloration. The Neumanns have directivity issues in the vertical axis due to their line source design, and all speakers have very differing directivity. Even two speakers that measure exactly the same on axis can sound completely different when placed in room if they have...

    Neumann KH 150 Monitor Review

The #1 song on spotify currently has a solid 30hz 808. There are a lot.

    New Genelec monitors / speakers

I'd consider 200hz to 400hz the crossover point where upper bass becomes lower mids. Specifically above 250hz.

Genelec 8260a or 8341a for desk listening.

Might be worth mentioning that there's a pair of 8351a's (I believe) at the Guitar Center in Manhattan that they haven't posted online but if I remember correctly they were asking around $5000 for them as well. I haven't been in a few months so it may have changed since then, but if anyone is...

Genelec 8260a or 8341a for desk listening.

Two basses is always better than one.

Geithain RL 901K vs Neumann KH420

I would also look into the Genelec 8361a if possible. They compare favorably to the Neumann KH-420 and are also coaxial so they have great directivity in both the horizontal and vertical domain. Measurements are available for both the 8361a and KH-420 here at ASR.

Studio Monitors for now until the end

They'd already sound fantastic out of the box, the calibration via MA1 just makes them sound that much better. They're probably the best measuring speaker under $3000, especially in the pro market. Their only limitation is in SPL output and bass extension, but are very respectable for their size.

    Best nearfields under $5k all-in?

Either Neumann KH-310s or KH-150s and room treatment would be my choice. The new KH-310s seem to be on the horizon so that may be worth keeping in mind to keep away the buyers remorse.

Best Very-Nearfield monitor for bedroom mixing

If you want something smaller, the 305p's wouldn't be a bad option while still having solid bass extension. That + room correction could get you a really solid sounding system for not much money, and even leave room for a sub down the line if you use free room correction software.
