I bought my Qudelix-5K in November 2020 and it still works fine, including the clip. But I don't clip it to a belt - I clip it to a shirt or to a pocket (of a jacket or jeans). It is possible that your belt is too thick for it and causes too much strain.

Except the app is buggy and inferior to Spotify. The most annoying, of course, is its habit of randomly stopping playback, which is IMHO a deal breaker.

Interesting. Certainly other way round for me, tips that work on Zero:2 just don't seal with Gate, I needed bigger ones. :)

If you looks closer to these graphs then you'll notice that this is just the way the graphs are aligned - it seems that bass level is the same or even higher on Zero II - until you notice that an area from about 400 Hz to 1 kHz follows Harman curve on Zero:2 graph and dips below it on Chu II...

I don't think your comparison is valid - DACs/amps/speakers/headphones etc. are just means to listen to music (or whatever other sound). So, using your analogy, they will be something like cups. E.g. a cup with a taste of orange juice. You drink water from it - tastes like water with orange...

IMHO purely from "build quality per dollar" perspective Gate wins - it is better compared to similarly priced Zero:2 and Chu II (the cable is much better) and Zero:RED and Blue are significantly more expensive, at least formally.

Yes and yes, certainly this is my taste and "ruins" is relative, just in the context of all these recent budget IEMs that more or less follow Harman curve, certainly there are many much worse.

Well, out of these recent "Harmonish" IEMs I have four: Truthear Zero (Blue), 7Hz Zero:2, Moondrop Chu II and these Truthear Gate. Without EQ I'd rate them like this: Zero:2 > Zero Blue >>>> Chu II >>>> Gate. Chu II has ugly bloated bass. Gate has unlistenable mids. With EQ it is more difficult...

Chu II are not *deeper* (as in extending lower in frequency) base, they are just significantly more boomy and bloated. Zero:2 have just a tiny bit of this bass excess, IMHO acceptable without EQ, GATE may be the best in the bass quantity and quality but upper mids frequency bump ruins them...

Most probably this is a seal issue, I also had the same problem at first with Gate, even with the same tips that worked great with other IEMs (e.g. 7Hz Zero 2, Moondrop Chu II). And sometimes it is, surprisingly, other way round - smaller tips seal better. Because overly large tips can fold inside and the fold line will prevent a good seal. BTW, both ears don't necessary need the tips of the same size...

I don't think so. I don't have Zero Red, I only have Blue. They sound different to Zero 2 without EQ. And with high impedance source (= bass adapter) they have significantly more bass (boomier but not deeper), way too much. Without EQ I prefer Zero 2, with EQ I really like both from sound...

I'm not sure why to go through all different tricks to fix Gate if Zero 2 are just $5 more and better right out of the box?
