Audyssey Manual Calibration “OCA’s REW + Audyssey Awesomeness”

Thanks a lot @JohnPM I’ll add that to search path on next release. BTW the API beta download thread is the only place to post bug reports ? I’ve one pending to report I’m out os country so not with my development machine nearby but wanted to know since it seems there is no...

Audyssey Manual Calibration “OCA’s REW + Audyssey Awesomeness”

A1EE tries to autostart REW assumming it is in that PATH, you can give it OK then Start REW and its API server. Most people solve this just reinstalling REW. https://www.avsforum.com/posts/63534393/ In next release I'll catch that exception to inform the user. It seems REW allow to install on...

Audyssey Manual Calibration “OCA’s REW + Audyssey Awesomeness”

I thought the same way. But it seems the idea is not to overboost when you have two adjacent filters that sum themselves due to overlapping. Actually maxBoost on REW can go up to 18dB and overallBoost to 12dB Anyway this recomendations aren't writen in stone. I recommed to see the averaged...

Audyssey Manual Calibration “OCA’s REW + Audyssey Awesomeness”

Please note. If somebody downloaded the Beta3 yesterday. Please re-download it. Had to fix some last minute bugs  If you go with Full Range EQ be cautious with boosts especially if you opt for High Shelf. 6db Max and 3dB overall is a good start.

    Denon AVR-X4800H AVR Review

Completely agree. My specific problem is father in law trying to see a movie without 3 remotes

    Denon AVR-X4800H AVR Review

My X4800H remote doesn't work as a remote for my media player or TV but I think it is more related to Denon CEC implementation than to the remote itself.

    Denon AVR-X4800H AVR Review

Probably because is a video source through HDMI with a decent CEC implementation (@CapMan which model do you have?) At least for my audio source through HDMI (DMP-A6) it doesn't work probably because it doesn't support CEC. For audio inputs analog/digital AFAIK Denons don't have some sort of...

MMM approach and a new calibration app (magic beans)

Hi, Probably ask already sorry. For Denon MultiEQ-X is a must ? Or just the Mobile App do the work ? Ask because @OCA figured out how to create curves for each channel on .ADY format (it's on Github) and the mobile app does the distance/level stuff, A1 from @OCA too :) so if you only need to...

    Denon AVR-X4800H AVR Review

Thanks, I think it is that way for cases when one only wants to play music. It will be nice to be able to specificy to turn the TV in some cases you know will be outputing real video (BluRay, Media Server, etc).

How ? I did read the whole manual and talks the other way around, turning AVR with TV

    Denon AVR-X4800H AVR Review

Guys, It is posible to automatically turn TV on when you turn your X4800H ? I do have HDMI CEC enabled on all devices and usually push Memory 1 on Remote to turn the AVR on my Media Server input (which also wakes) but my LG C3 stays off (I thas simplink activated). BTW my TV and media server...

    Active XO on BiAmp Speakers

Yes I used to use my SHD to feed a pair of R200 + Subwoofer. My idea here is maintining factory XOs frecuency (350 between Subs and Mids) but play with delays on the Subs. If I understand correctly on biamping the factory crossovers are still in the chain so basically I just can delay the...

    Active XO on BiAmp Speakers

Thanks Vincent, So basically even if the Sub drivers are passing through a LPF I can suppose these are minimal phase and feed through the output of my active XO using something like an allpass just to add delays to time align the speakers ? Anybody as made something like this with some audible...

    Active XO on BiAmp Speakers

Hi new to this forum, great place to learn :) My stereo setup consist on a pair of Polk R700 connected to a Buckeye Purify Amp feed through a MiniDSP SHD (with DL). I made an inquiry to Polk support but have not received and answer yet, so I came to your knowledge. When I remove the binding...

Audyssey Manual Calibration “OCA’s REW + Audyssey Awesomeness”

@OCA forgot to mention both measure are with A1 the only diference is that I just manually adjusted SW distance for the second one. Forgive my ignorance but it is not prefered to have the least amount of phase inversions in the LF area specially ? Cannot stress enough how greateful I'm for...

Audyssey Manual Calibration “OCA’s REW + Audyssey Awesomeness”

One thing I noted today running REW sweeps after A1 optimization is that step response maybe not optimal considering that I have that SW distance limit problem that I have to set Center distance by hand. After setting my C distance by hand to A1 (1.77m) it inference SW distance to 3.52m which...

Audyssey Manual Calibration “OCA’s REW + Audyssey Awesomeness”

Signal to Noise Ratio, more measures or with more samples in the frequency sweep improves SNR. This AFAIK noise floor mantains constant during the measure.
