Small 2-way speakers with linear on-axis and power response characteristics (Scan Speak and SB Acoustics drivers). H&V off-axis measurements included

If you're limited to aerosol cans, I think high build primer and topcoat from the automotive world would work best. It's going to take mulitple prime coats and subsequent sanding to get plywood ready to topcoat. Be careful though, not all spray can products have compatible formulas and solvents...

I'm guessing the bearing on your roundover cutter fell into driver rabbet? But for the one area dipped out there, it could be salvaged with corner inlays or cutting chamfers, but it would be considerable work. I'd be inclined to use glazing putty to fill the defects, sand and trim flat, then...

Without knowing just what the mode of failure was, I'm guessing at some of this. 1. Birch is a fairly hard hardwood and all the plys in Baltic Birch are hardwood, unlike domestic plywood. Couple to that every other ply has grain running 180° to the adjacent plys. BB ply is splintery and it's...

For clarity, filling a 1mm space with conventional wood glue will not add any significant strength at the gap. The bond really needs to be between the parts being glued which requires a minimal glue line. It is possible to starve a joint of glue but hard to imagine that would be the case here...

I'm very interested in your results...please keep us updated. I have a bit of mold making experience in the marine world with polyester resin and some pour experience with epoxy that went way wrong.

Well done! I'm very recently into the 3D printing world and might just take this on as a learning project. Thanks for your efforts!

Not sure how to interpret "spontaneous" but it would seem you've got a faulty tweeter. You only have the one? Would certainly agree about high gloss finishes. Easily the most demanding when it comes to painted finishes.

Both speakers exhibit the crackling and popping? Can you duplicate or is it completely random?

Group Buy for Mechano23 flat packs

Could it be done? Perhaps. My question would be "why?" If it's about locating parts in relationship to one another, there are easier ways to accomplish this. If it's about strength, they really only add strength in shear. Shear strength is just not a factor in cabinet like this. If one used...

OTC Hearing Aids - Apple EarPod Pro2 vs. Philips 9050

Update after in-store back-to-back test drives of both Rexton and Phillips. I've taken the Jabra off the list. Both programmed with what tech called a "rough draft" of the profile they would start with. I walked around the store and tried to be well aware of what the subtle differences might be...

OTC Hearing Aids - Apple EarPod Pro2 vs. Philips 9050

A journey I'm kind of reluctantly moving ahead with. Turns out my hearing loss is asymmetrical and borders on "profound" by industry standards. I've lived with it like that for many years but am tiring of asking folks to repeat themselves as it deteriorates further. Truth is, many days go by...

OTC Hearing Aids - Apple EarPod Pro2 vs. Philips 9050

I wondered too and asked as much. She told me she had had great success with the Rextons on people with similar hearing loss. Also, it appears that on a corporate level Costco is moving away from Rexton in favor of Sennheiser. Of course, I recognize that name but I don’t have any way to equate...

OTC Hearing Aids - Apple EarPod Pro2 vs. Philips 9050

You know, I don't mind paying for good service but have difficulty justifying $4700 difference in price tag. I posed this very concern to the audiologist at ENT I visited and she had no clear answer except "you get what you pay for". From a business standpoint, I would think having some clearly...

OTC Hearing Aids - Apple EarPod Pro2 vs. Philips 9050

Having had my first taste of hearing aids at Costco yesterday, I have to say I'm disappointed in what I heard versus what I thought I would hear. I told tech the fidelity was dismal which she explained away with "they're for hearing voices better". I get it, but the experience was surprising as...

(SOLVED) Need help with cabinet holes!

I like template guides for this reason, but their use doesn't seem widespread. If I'm understanding correctly, you've got to get the center pivot point under the base of the router. Get your radius figured out by distance from collet. Make an auxiliary base or drill a hole in existing subbase at...

And the saga continues. This is the rig I set up for testing at 90°. Held up my 25 lb. weight no issue My rudimentary rotational shear setup Torque wrench lowest setting is 15 in/lbs. Insert held till it clicked. I stepped it to 20 in/lbs. and insert began to shear. I assume at the...
