TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero IEM Review

I had similar thoughts. I sold a set of Focal Stellia and don’t miss them. The zeros are really that good.

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

To add, I have to use the analog outputs as the subs do not have XLR connections, so there would be no benefit to using one amp although I know one amp could easily run both speakers to thier potential.

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

Yes pretty much but I am only using 1 analog from the SHD to 2x4HD which is then outputted to each sub, as below: PC -> [USB] -> SHD, then SHD analog 1 [RCA] -> 2x4 HD, then 2X4 HD analog 1&2 -> subs [RCA] SHD XLR 1,2 -> amp1 and SHD XLR 3,4 -> amp2 I am using "vertical" biamping i.e. one...

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

The amp connections are balanced XLRs so a flex wouldn’t be suitable but understand the point. I’d prefer to find a workaround than replace equipment. My set up does sound pretty good but I know it can be improved with some room correction and better sub integration. I could just use DIRAC but...

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

I have a PC to run the my video/audio and set up the SHD. I have a laptop to set up the 2x4HD which is then disconnected. MiniDSP advise you not to set up two MiniDSP products on a single PC so I know that part is correct. Thanks I assume that might be the case but not ideal for a novice, I...

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

I have a SHD running biamped mains a 2x4HD running dual subwoofers. The subwoofers are connected via a single RCA from the SHD to the 2x4HD and then single RCAs to the LFE of the subwoofer. The SHD and the 2x4HD are set up on seperate computers as advised by MiniDSP. I have run DIRAC on PC1/SHD...

TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero IEM Review

I've had the truthear since Amir's review and recently purchased the Khan as was intrigued by the same sound signature and more bass... I was very disappointed with the Khan and returned them. To my ear, lots of distortion, perhaps similar sub bass but far less mid range bass.

ART DJPRE II vs Fosi Audio X2 modded

I can't do any technical analysis either but I would be interested to listen to a CD rip for comparison. What is the track called?

ART DJPRE II vs Fosi Audio X2 modded

I had a look at both samples in Spek and Fosi extends to 48kHz and the Art to just over 40kHz so there is a limitation there. Whether or not that makes any difference I don't know but thought it was interesting to point out.

ART DJPRE II vs Fosi Audio X2 modded

On first listen I preferred the Fosi but after a few playbacks I think I actually prefer the Art. The Fosi is brighter or more open (however best to describe it) and perhaps a little more detail but it sounds harsher to my ear. I don't know the track so hard for me know exactly how it should...

Audio Interface: Separate Preamp and Recording Device or w/ Integrated Preamp

I think I am quite happy with the Art DJPRE II as the phonopre. it measures well and is cheap. It's connection from the phonopre to the computer/recording software which I am a bit unsure of. I have ripped vinyl with older equipment which was sold off a few years ago, and I was quite happy...

Audio Interface: Separate Preamp and Recording Device or w/ Integrated Preamp

I have a Rega Planar 3, RB300 tonearm and Nagaoka MP11 cartridge (cartridge will be replaced), nothing too expensive. This is a recent purchase so it's not set up as yet. I don't have a phonopre or recording device as yet hence the discussion on this thread. Computer wise I have various options...

Audio Interface: Separate Preamp and Recording Device or w/ Integrated Preamp

I am after recommendations for an audio interface to record vinyl. I have looked at reviews on here and other forums but still unsure what would be the best set up for a modest budget. Initially I was considering a seperate preamp and recording device such as the Art DJPRE II Phono and...

Review and Measurements of miniDSP SHD DAC, DSP And Streamer

Thanks both for those two suggestions, I realised the XLR/RCA had the same signal after posting. I'm probably leaning more towards the 2x4 HD solution... but good to be aware of another option.

Review and Measurements of miniDSP SHD DAC, DSP And Streamer

I am also interested in bi-amping speakers and running two subwoofers. Excuse my ignorance but why can't the 1&2 and 3&4 XLR go to power amplifiers for bi-amping and the RCAs to be used for two subwoofers? Can you still use crossover and all features with this set up? Many thanks

Reccomended Set Up and Subwoofer for Hypex NC502MP

Thanks Aerith. Option 1 would be preferable to Option 2. I'll have two set ups connecting into the power amp (not at the same time) and I would like use the speakers and subwoofer for both. I'll simply just swap the inputs going into the power amplifier as needed which I am fine with. Not sure...

Reccomended Set Up and Subwoofer for Hypex NC502MP

Hi all, I recently got a good deal on a Hypex NC502MP power amplifier. I would like to integrated a subwoofer when I get this set up but there is no subwoofer out on the unit. What are my potential set up options for adding a subwoofer, things to consider, and any pros or cons? Thanks in...
