Does your AVR have a configurable pre-out voltage setting? Perhaps the issue is that it outputs at something like 1.0V RMS. You want it to be closer to 2.0V for the A70 (1.9Vrms is specified). You could check the manual.

USB 2.0 is plenty. 24-bit 192 kHz uncompressed music stream uses 9216 kbps, or about 9 Mbps. USB 2.0 transfers about 300 Mbps (theoretical max 480 Mbps). Even if you went to the extravagant limit of 32bit/768KHz, that would only use 49Mbps.

I agree. I use a Douk U2 Pro, with external power supply, to receive USB from my PC. And then optical out from the Douk to my DAC (Chord Mojo). Works like a charm and solved all my noise issues.

Ignore the Aiyima low pass filter. Just set it to its highest frequency and use your subwoofer's controls to handle the low pass filtering.
