Interesting. I have 3 different types of Genelec SAM monitor and they all use dip switches. I guess these are too small to accommodate them. Looking at the manual, you should just be able to store the settings to the speakers from the software. No need for dip switch...

Re the U2: - The move from Micro USB to USB C was appreciated by me. A "Pro" version with XLR AES/EBU output instead of the I2S would also be appreciated.

"...the AES port on the RME seems different" are you using the dongle that comes with the RME? That will provide a standard XLR connector for AES-EBU inputs and outputs.

I’ve been using 8340s with GLM in my kitchen, of about the same dimensions. They work great! Haven’t felt the need to swap them out with the spare pair of 8341s that I have.
