    Topping D90SE Review (Balanced DAC)

Just get an adapter or TRS-XLR cable. I always made my own cables so I know it's good quality. If you have steady hands and soldering equipments then go for it. You're making music. I would ditch the toppings and get a UCXII. You'll make your chain simpler and let's not forget Totalmix is a...

    Topping B100 Amplifier Review

I had both. The V3 stereo is a fantastic device for his price point. I had three in an 3-way active XO system. When I changed to B100s I got bigger soundstage and better separation. No matter how many times I swapped them. Yes it was audible difference a small one but it was always there...

Choosing several Class-D amplifiers for my active 4-way loudspeaker

I had a 3-way active setup with three Fosi V3 stereo. You can't find a better deal. If you have more money get the PA5II. The "one box" solution would be a hypex plate amp and it includes DSP as well. One more note if you have a small/medium room I can't image a TPA based chip amp (mentioned...

    Topping B100 Amplifier Review

I would argue in that sense that the separation gets better due the mono block system. For me the soundstage got wider for sure. There is one thing worrying tough is that the electrostatic speakers usual dip below 4 ohm which we know it has a chance to trip the B100's saftey mode. In case you...

Do You Miss Knobs and Dials and Switches?

Here is my only knob. It can control my Fireface over bluetooth with a custom made ble-midi converter. Okay that's not exactly true I have a dial and some switches on my radio but I only use it when I need some random music very quickly. I bought it only for aesthetic reason and to emit some...

    Musical fidelity ms6i

Then fully turn up the volume knob on your M6SI without any input (or shorted input) and compare it to a modern class D power amp. The difference is obvious on a scope also on your speaker if you are brave enough. Look M6SI is a pretty good amp but currently there are better amps on the market...

    Musical fidelity ms6i

In case you wanna future proof then just get a stereo Nilai or Purifi. Economically I would still buy the PA5II then with minimal loss I would get a modern amp after a year or two when you feel a speaker upgrade is necessary. Hoping the technology will improve and it will for sure. Here is my...

    Musical fidelity ms6i

I had this amp for a few years. Replaced by a Hypex Nilai. I would pick the later one without any hesitation. Probably any modern Purifi would do it as well. The only thing I put my Nilai aside for because I went with an active XO system. One more thing to note you dont need this kind of power...

    Topping B100 Amplifier Review

Once I had similar short pops, but they would repeat themselves every few minutes or so. It was not B100 related! At first I thought it's my DAC because these pops remained whatever I put on it's output but turned out it was a wrongly wired XLR cable. As I stated in this thread before. I have...

    Tweeter Recommendation for Woofer

+1 for the SB26CDC but I warn you here there is a chance you'll fall in love with it. Very transparent, low distortion and will open your soundstage you never heard before especially with a sota amp like la90 or b100.

Fosi Audio V3 Mono Amplifier Review

Those are indeed the same 78M12 regulators. 24XX is the manufacturing date code, 24=year, XX=week. (LM)2576 has 5 pins instead of 3 and my guess is it has a heatsink as well. EDIT: Look at the right side of the board next to the other switch. There should be a chip with a heatsink. I think...

Fosi Audio V3 Mono Amplifier Review

The overall problem here is they're changing the design without any notice. The more worrying thing is that they changed the voltage regulator (#4,080) as well which can affect on the noise floor, sinad and so on. Basically what I'm saying here is the new unit can perform differently compare to...

Fosi Audio V3 Mono Amplifier Review

25/19dB gain on RCA instead of 31/25. Written on above the RCA connector. There is a picture just a few post back with an old unit.

Fosi Audio V3 Mono Amplifier Review

That's a nasty practice from fosi.. I disappointed. Changing the power supply rail can affect the performance as well. At least you can still use the 25dB settings on every unit to make them sound the same.

    Ferrofish Pulse 8 AE

Finally an cheap ADAT expander which supports SMUX/4, 192kHz. D/A Converters ES9017: 32Bit/192kHz ESS D/A Converter A/D Converters ES9840Q: 32Bit/192kHz ESS A/D Converter Not bad but it's not a sota performer.

    Fosi Multichannel DAC coming!

Nice. During holidays I had so much time I started designing my own multi-channel(8-32) modular dac because there was limited offers on the market. Now with this news I questioning that should I proceed further? Anyways I guess Fosi still needs at least half a year to bring this dac...

    Topping B100 Amplifier Review

That was a very early build I think because I only saw that version on promo photos. Looks like they integrated the mosfet next to the caps under the psu socket. One other interesting thing is two of my amps has different white led than the others so probably these are from different batch...
