Haha cheers yea these Arendals are massive! Definitely didn't need the 1723 Non-S center channel. Just need to calibrate it all now

Finally the towers arrived and even with no burn in and using the existing calibration I setup for the Klipsch they're already an improvement! Sound is very clear and balanced with no boominess

Multi-Sub Optimizer (MSO): Lessons Learned, Tips & Tricks

Thanks Mike so you would suggest to not prevent audyssey from adjusting FR for subs and to let it do it's thing +/- any preferred house curve i choose to apply? Looking around online seems to be many different schools of thought which is making it difficult to understand which process is best...

Multi-Sub Optimizer (MSO): Lessons Learned, Tips & Tricks

I'm struggling with MSO but keen to get the most out of my system so wondered if I can get some assistance in understanding what setup process to follow. My hardware is; MiniDSP flex with Dirac Live license Denon X3700H Audiolab 6000A Audiolab 6000CDT SVS PB1000 Pro x2 UMIK-1 7.2.4 speaker...

    Amp Upgrade/Change opinions please - Audiolab/Lyngdorf/MiniDSP/WiiM

I currently use both the WiiM & the flex for volume control, I think in my proposed setup I'd constantly forget to revert back to 0db on the MiniDSP and throw channel levels out of whack on the HT side of things

    Amp Upgrade/Change opinions please - Audiolab/Lyngdorf/MiniDSP/WiiM

I can automate a lot of that with the Harmony remote but it leaves the question of volume/gain and whether the MiniDSP would put the fronts out of balance or would it just passthrough the gain settings from the AVR like the Audiolab does

    Amp Upgrade/Change opinions please - Audiolab/Lyngdorf/MiniDSP/WiiM

Thinking aloud and as an alternative to the above, would it be possible to adjust my setup so that I sell just the Audiolab 6000A and replace with a 2 or 3 channel power amp (e.g. Nord purifi) connect Front L/R pre-outs from my AVR to the RCA inputs of the MiniDSP flex and then the RCA outputs...

    Amp Upgrade/Change opinions please - Audiolab/Lyngdorf/MiniDSP/WiiM

I currently have an Audiolab 6000A that I use for 2 purposes; 1) As a power amp for Front channel (L/R) duties with my Denon X3700H for home theatre using HT bypass 2) As an integrated amp for 2.2 music listening and is paired with a WiiM mini and a MiniDSP flex unbalanced DAC/preamp coupled...

Yea the Klipsch are definitely enjoyable speakers, they're very engaging which can work quite well for movies...etc I think what has triggered me to upgrade was putting the Dali opticon mk2 on wall LCR speaker as the center channel in my bedroom setup as for dialogue it's considerably better...

    Home Theatre Upgrade Discussion

Absolutely! I'm slightly nervous as I really want them to blow me away but I know these types of upgrades sometimes are more of a subtle upgrade in reality! If I do like them and decide the net cost is worth it to keep them then i'll look to upgrade the surrounds/rears/heights in the near future...

Would you still suggest to go with the non-S center regardless of whether i get the S or non-S towers or monitors for L/R? Regarding LCR, if i were to add an Emotiva XPA-3 to the X3700H would there be any discernable improvement in sound from the extra headroom or not really?

Any thoughts on the idea of placing monitors directly on subs as an alternative to towers? I don't think it's an option but their return policy seems the next best thing as shipping free in both directions with 60 day return period

Yea i'm off work over Christmas/NY so will do some research on local retailers with stock to demo! I would love to demo some Perlisten too but they're a bit too pricey for my budget

TBH i've not listened to either the R or reference series of KEF only the lower tier stuff which I wasn't sold on but would love to hear the higher end gear. I see that on ebay there's a pair of used R7 Meta going for £2,800 which seems like a good deal & also a pair of R11 (non-meta) for £2,300

I'm definitely leaning towards the Arendals - their build quality looks insanely good, they measure well, supposedly well balanced with a good compromise between music & HT, the company ethos seems good with reputable customer service with excellent returns policy....etc, aesthetically pleasing...

    Home Theatre Upgrade Discussion

The rubikore are a bit of a step up in price, the towers retail at £6K so probably a bit much for me. Thinking about the Arendals and the question of towers vs bookshelf/monitors, one potential option i was thinking is instead of stands to explore the idea of placing monitors directly on top of...

    Home Theatre Upgrade Discussion

Yes this is the challenge it's all highly subjective and couple that with different acoustics in every room it makes deciding which way to go quite difficult. I think ultimately I want a more balanced system as the Klipsch are enjoyable but they are very bright (even post EQ) and the mids could...
