Help! 4 subs, REW, minidsp, ARC ; odd results

lol - in addition to gain increase I also added a ButtKicker which added a lot to the overall experience for me - so much so that I put in a preorder for a Crowson system. Maybe in your case something like that would be a decent sub replacement

Help! 4 subs, REW, minidsp, ARC ; odd results

Thanks all - I ended up just increasing the gain to the subs. My hangup was that I felt like I may have been increasing the gain "too much" after RC but essentially all I've heard is "ymmv" in regards to trying to get a feel for what "too much" might be. Thanks again for the thoughtful replies

Help! 4 subs, REW, minidsp, ARC ; odd results

Hi neRok - you may have missed where I described how I used REW and minidsp to properly time-align the subs to ensure positive FR summation while adding each sub. The first graph in my original post shows the progression of adding each sub with their ideal delays for maximum SPL output. The...

Help! 4 subs, REW, minidsp, ARC ; odd results

Recently replaced 2 Klipsch R-115SW with 4 Rythmik FV18. Gain matched them by REW/UMIK1/SPL measurements all in the same location. Set gain offsets in minidsp. Then followed general process outlined here to incrementally add all the subs to ensure that each addition resulted in net positive...

    Active subwoofer suggestions, $5k budget

Thank you all for your input! Specific shout-out thanks to rynberg for the FV18 suggestion. I would definitely choose two of those over a single RS1 now after reading up on them. I was kind of writing-off some of the larger units with beefier amps (>2400watts) because I was thinking I'd...

    Active subwoofer suggestions, $5k budget

Thanks much! I'm unclear how to interpret this data, though. Is there some characteristic about any of the ones in that list that speak to how well each of them do wrt rumble-bass and punchy-bass in comparison to each other? I.e. how would one know which one delivers the best of both worlds...

    Active subwoofer suggestions, $5k budget

I've skimmed through the subwoofer comparison thread, but one thing that I haven't been able to extract from there is which subwoofers are more geared towards games/movies as opposed to music. The sub will rarely (if ever) be used for listening to music, so that is not a priority. It will be...

    Best AVR with PS5

Matt - are you saying that you have a Denon AVC-X?700 and you have successfully gotten a setup with ps5 -> denon -> tv with 4k120hz? (not just regular 4k) I'm asking because I currently have Anthem 1140 8k with ps5 -> anthem -> lg oled c2 evo and while it will do regular 4k60hz just fine, when...

Can anyone identify this Legacy speaker?

I just solved the mystery - I thought that the "Reel to Real" sticker on the back was just plopped on by the audio shop that resold them back in the 90s (for marketing), but apparently Reel to Real was the name of the company before they became Legacy Audio. They are Legacy-1's. Googling for...

Can anyone identify this Legacy speaker?

Yup, I did that a while ago, but no reply, so I thought I'd consult the community :)

Can anyone identify this Legacy speaker?

Thanks folks - I did find those other picture online, but I don't see any exact matches - like some of the pictures y'all posted have additional back pictures where it shows additional tweeters and/or woofers - there's nothing on the back of mine. Some of the other pictures have the legacy...

Can anyone identify this Legacy speaker?

There is no model number on any of the six surfaces, but the grill does have the Legacy plate on it. I bought them used back in the 90s. Hopefully someone recognizes them and can clue me in on what the model number is. Thanks for any help!
