Unfortunately, I haven't listened to G2 but I have 8330 and from the mid/bass driver size G2 (10 cm) is one level below to 8330 (16 cm mid/bass driver size). 8330 is fantastic for its size. I have listened to 1 and Era100. Can't compare.

Do you mean using the balanced output or also using the TRS balanced input from the DAC? I used only SE output and a simple RCA input from my BTR5 into L50.

For me, it would be the other way around. I did AB comparison of Reference 1 and R11 classic. The Reference 1 definitely sounded more pleasant and enjoyable (minus the bass of R11).
