Same here, use the 705Ps at work and have the 708Ps at home in a small set up.. absolutely love the 7 series..

Play a song in mono or a voice recording, if the sound is not center, something isn’t right.

Not my standard set up, but I have used this DX7 Pro to drive the 420s and the JBL 708Ps. Works fine, just limited with inputs.

If it’s a DAC w/ a volume control, then yes. I would also suggest getting a topping DAC with XLR outputs. XLR out from DAC to the 420’s.

Thats my set up as well, except I switched the spikes for wheels.

it's insane how loud artists like to listen, but mostly its all the touring SPL levels of the shows night after night. Same goes for DJs / mixers- most have hearing damage from crazy club SPLs night after night.

I couldn't get the felt stickers to work either... I also use the grills w/o those lil pads.. zero issue with rattle.. I do take the grilles off when I'm going to listen for a long time, but mostly, this is how they live...

PS - I have the grilles on mine (my special needs, music loving son loves to touch the drivers) and they're great - super easy to slide on and off!!

Best way to ship any of these big boxes is on a pallet. In my experience (re: care of fragile stuff) FedEx is better than UPS, but not always. I tried searching for flight cases for my 420's yesterday, couldn't find any. I found KH310 flight cases for $720, OUCH!

Honestly, the packaging was fairly flimsy. The speakers arrived intact, but it was obvious the packing foam did its job and absorbed the beating it took from shipping. I like keeping the boxes my gear comes in for future transpo, but didn’t keep these as they were useless. I’m going to look...
