Audyssey One - Nexus (Automated hi-res Denon/Marantz calibration with REW/Umik-1/2)

REW changed house curve API endpoint in the latest beta 78 and Nexus will not work with it. Use Acoustica which can also work with manual REW measurements.

Also, multiple mic position measurements may change the selected crossovers one notch up or down depending on the pattern.

Unfortunately no progress in that front yet because I am still dealing with compatibility issues of the filter transfer function with some lower models. Do you use LFE distribution? I have an old 6011 which doesn't have that (has a hidden bass extraction frequency and directional bass mode) and...

I always get 40Hz for my fronts, too because they are quite large full range-ish towers. You could get 40Hz even with smaller speakers if they are too close to walls. The algo optimizes maximum energy with 2 fronts and all subs combined and is unique. I wouldn;t recommend capping fronts, all...

Rew can install itself to different places in different operating systems, with every update compatibility will increase though. Someone added a lot of new Mac paths this morning in github.

I wanted to master crossover algorithms which I have now completed. I will add LFE + Main option to Acoustica at some point. But I can assure you Acoustica will beat MJ LFE + Main calibration easily in clarity and probably also in bass.

You only need to repeat the transfer, sometimes filters seem to transfer fine but they don't. There are no known issues with x3800 though.

Your fronts come up crossed over at 40Hz and that reflectes correctly to the .oca calibration file. Nothing is set to Large: If the transfer doesn't seem to carry those XOs over to the AVR, it could be a preset issue or you are checking from WEB UI which has many bugs, only trust AVR set up...

While it's possible to generate an xml file that MiniDSP can load directly, it's quite a bit of tedious work that I don't have time for (or enough demand per se). I am working on a multiple sub + speakers optimizer though (a standalone project) and that might have a MiniDSP compatible output.

    Denon x8500ha vs x6800h

Having four subwoofers is ideal, but since you mentioned you can’t go beyond two, I’d actually recommend going with a single high-quality sub if you don’t often have multiple seating positions. Both models use the Griffin Lite DSP chip — the best available in D&M gear — and both support...

If you don't have experience taking measurements with REW, I would suggest to start with Neuron's own measurement tool. You can use as many mic positions and as many repeats in the same mic position as you like (not limited to 8 as the default Audyssey), it's quick, easy and standard Audyssey...

I had explained it in detail in the Nexus video (which worked only with REW measurements), didn't go through that again in Neuron video. Dolby Atmos REW sweeps you will need are available in both video folders.

Has anyone used manual parametric equalization for room correction?

REW has a "configurable PEQ" under "Generic" which you can fully customize for your particular model's bandwith, gain, number of banks, etc. PEQ settings and then REW's auto EQ will generate the optimal PEQ settings for the target curve of your choice:

It's one of the many features of odd.wtf program which runs from the command prompt but you can also use odd_menu.bat below (option 5) There's a similar batch file for Macs along with instructions in the video folder. I have replaced sendFilters_lowVolume with 'sendAllSettings' this morning...

You don't need either, A1 Evo can communicate with your receiver without them, even take its own measurements using your AVR and Audyssey mic.
