TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero:BLUE2 IEM Review

Ok, it surely is confusing now with a mix of Crinacle, Zeroes, and numbers.

Hmm, looks like focal failure has been resolved as all posts are gone.

No back and forth, confirmation bias will set in.

    Focal Utopia Review (Headphone)

That looks better, looks like Tidal defaults to force volume in exclusive mode, I guess it makes sense. With this setup you at least eliminate a possibility Windows sound system interferes with the data. Spend some time listening to your headphones, often sound your brain is not used to is...

    Focal Utopia Review (Headphone)

Click on Settings to the left to DAC3, is there the exclusive mode toggle and it’s on? I usually disable volume normalization as I don’t trust these apps to do it properly. To this point also set force volume to max to control it externally.

    Focal Utopia Review (Headphone)

You can use JRiver EQ with exclusive mode. It installs a virtual sound device that you select for output in Tidal, and JRiver has a bunch of DSP options, PEQ including. It isn’t free, but not expensive either.

    Focal Utopia Review (Headphone)

I’m not a Tidal user but this seems wrong, you’re setting Tidal exclusive mode for the built in sound card, not the external DAC.

    Focal Utopia Review (Headphone)

For starters, ensure you’re using Exclusive mode in Tidal, then Windows sound settings will have no effect. You need EQ for most headphones, if that is your main use case perhaps change your DAC to RME ADI-2 or find a software solution, ie Equalizer APO.

are there any tests examining the effectiveness of using I2S input?

As cool as LVDS is, I don’t think its main use case is applications where low jitter is of importance. It’s hard to beat copper over short runs.

    ARSY Ne-2 Streamer Review

Is it because of licensing costs? How much does Google charge? Just curious.

    ARSY Ne-2 Streamer Review

As I mentioned I don’t want another app to stream Qobuz, but looks like WiiM supports Chromecast, is this what you’re referring to?

    ARSY Ne-2 Streamer Review

Kudos on a great device. Is adding support for Google Cast on your roadmap?

are there any tests examining the effectiveness of using I2S input?

Perhaps I misunderstood. Anyhow I think we can agree that I2S doesn’t offer any advantages over other interfaces, and can, at least theoretically, be worse.

Gustard r26. best way to connect

Underwhelming, but what's there is probably enough.

Gustard r26. best way to connect

USB-C to USB-B cable should be all you need then. As far as the streamer module, I'm reading your options are currently limited to UPnP and Roon. If you can find a way to stream Apple music through them that may be another way to do it.

Gustard r26. best way to connect

Just connect it to any analog input except the one marked Phono. In any mode except Pure Direct the signal from r26 will be converted to digital and then internal DAC in the receiver will convert it back to analog, which is kind of pointless if you’re looking to experience the “R2R magic”. You...
