well, you don't post exactly your conclusions ... so i will bet you refer to a higher noise at 15khz and upper frequencies (aprox -55dB). but ... that's is objectively tested with a blind listening? i mean ... 15khz and upper frequencies, i doubt any person can hear it, and if they can, the ear...

our ears are less sensible to distortion at high and low frequencies ... that's one of the secret keys about "magical" properties in amplifiers, even tube ones, generally the objectively worst amplifiers by far.

I think to have real bass with ANY bookshelf (and many full range) you need a sub. The limitation isn't only on the woofer / cabinet dimensions but also on the impedance / amplifier power / relationship. Even your speaker can go under 40hz, it doesn't mean your amp can deliver the needed amount...

Don't overthink, flex devices have great distortion / noise measurements. It's very simple, if you have a decent DAC and want to stay with it, buy the digital version. In other case buy the trs version (or the RCA if your amplifier doesn't have balanced inputs) and simplify the system. Done...

Try the vm95en nude stylus :-) An absolute bargain ... by far.

The Chinese MC cartridges was something to check, fine line styluses and decent construction at a fraction of the west side prices. Now ... I don't know ... with 100% tariff they're more close, and I'm not sure that tariff will be the end :-)
