You couldn’t hear the difference - Proof! Beautiful video of David Mellor (Audio Masterclass) about sound differences between DAC

So, it actually isn't a track to judge sound quality with - just the differences, else one falls into "circle of confusion" trap?

Ok, then what about this Tracy Chapman track? Is it also used just to identify differences?

What's the reference for the pink noise reproduction? When one, listening to pink noise, says this loudspeaker is better than that one. Based/compared to what?

IIRC all Ucds are like that up to ca. 3/4 full power.

    Magnepan LRS Speaker Review

A glass of wine is like loudspeaker: one is enough to know if it is good, but the more you have them the better :D

    Magnepan LRS Speaker Review

True, some speakers are great in mono and stereo, but some are average in mono and stereo. And then, some are average in mono but good in stereo - and the whole system of speaker recommendations based on mono collapses.

Too bad most of the music is in stereo. Life is like stereo - it sucks! :D

    Magnepan LRS Speaker Review

I meant - some speakers are much better in stereo than the others - and AFAIK there is no way to tell how much better would speaker sound in stereo compared to mono unless you do a listening test.

It seems to me you are heavily trying to sell me new edition. And I bought just one edition of "Kind of Blue"... Ps I still think that graphs published in 3rd edition show that some loudspeaker (quad esl) sound better in stereo than mono.

    Magnepan LRS Speaker Review

Looking once more at the last graph - it also shows that it's easier to notice finer differences between relatively good loudspeakers as the number of channels increases. Or it doesn't show anything relevant at all - it's quite dependent to interpretation. :)

    Magnepan LRS Speaker Review

Ok. Finally the right graph. Because the one @amirm showed just revealed that some speakers sound better in stereo than in mono.

    Magnepan LRS Speaker Review

I don't know about that paper, but the graph shows that greatest (and probably statistically significant) ddifferences are when eq method B is used, and then most listeners preffered stereo setup. I bought 1st and 3rd edition of your book. It seems I would have to buy 4th also. Some discount...

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

    Magnepan LRS Speaker Review

It just shows that there is at least one loudspeaker significantly preffered listened in stereo than in mono. How do you set up any loudspeakers as to represent how everyone out there sets them up in stereo? So it's better to set it up like no one does.:)

    Magnepan LRS Speaker Review

Maybe so, but the first graph also shows that for eq B stereo is much more preffered than mono.
