    Atmos finally decoded in PC/Mac

You helped a lot with showing the improvements in JRiver and support from PotPlayer. MPC-HC seems the same to me, it cannot play anything over 8 channels, not even just the file on a system with fewer channels.

Thanks @Lion for the report, added to the guide.

    Atmos finally decoded in PC/Mac

Thanks! One last question, do they work while playing the 8+ channel renders with video? I've heard of JRiver only supporting 8+ channels while playing audio only.

    What about MPC-HC?

What players are compatible? I'll add them to the docs.

Cavern QuickEQ - Basic How to

Good idea, we'll conduct a feasibility check. However, if any WiFi technology has worse latency than Bluetooth, something is broken.

I'm working on something like MiniDSP but with full Cavern feature set.

If Sigma has any EQ or FIR import, and there's a sample file, I can make an export for you.

Cavern QuickEQ - Basic How to

If it's excess phase in REW (measured phase - minimum phase), it's something I did try to learn how to do, but the problem was, I couldn't figure out any way to synthesize arbitrary phase curves. If there is a general formula for it, it would be child's play to implement, but I could never find it.

Just tell me what "low frequency excess phase room correction" is, and I'll add it.

Cavern QuickEQ - Basic How to

Yes, high volume is a clipping warning and low volume is a noise warning (red graphs). What is the issue? It just doesn't launch, or is there an error message?

Cavern QuickEQ - Basic How to

Cavern will tell you if it's clipping or too noisy. If it's too much, there will be an error popup, if it's too low, the results will glow in red.

Cavern QuickEQ - Basic How to

Because any phase-based correction like time-alignment works with relative phases, because we do not hear phase, and only differences matter. Even for Dirac, who could do it, there is no need for absolute phase correction.

Oh it will be realtime with a simple installer very soon.

Yes, you can use that and the file is recognize.

No. It will be based on a paper published by a friend of mine, but it still isn't reviewed.

Cavern QuickEQ - Basic How to

There is no such thing as best, just good enough. Over that level, it barely matters, and the UMIK-1 is over it.

Cavern QuickEQ - Basic How to

This can easily be proven false by looking at what calibration files contain. It's very common to have completely uneven frequency responses, just look at how much correction a UMIK-1, iMM-6, or especially an XTZ mic needs.

Cavern QuickEQ - Basic How to

Absolutely. The only case when it's not, is when you want to keep the character of your speakers and only EQ the differences between them. In that case, the Complex version of QuickEQ will only allow you to use the Smoother curve that does just that.
