if you want to control volume from the top, you should set the upstream volumes such that they are at-or-near-max. and your absolute downstream volume control is fixed at ~lower volume levels, That way you get the best Sinad from your devices as Total. <- im guessing the opposite of this is...

interesting... if your plan was that some TV's should not have access to Wiim you could also connect these TV's to your WiFi guest_network or vice-versa., im thinking this is causing it, being in the same network. but if they are all connected through Lan, then sure, you should also look into...

great to hear, looking forward to listening tests vol2 :) im thinking myself getting some ls50's for mostly tv listening, planning on adding kef t2 sub's, altought T2's are quite old in kef lineup and wierdly gone almost 2 times more expensive than ~10 years ago.

nice bluetooth remote is included, cant comment on touchscreen functionality bc ive used it once, swiped for different inputs.. thats about it. i like to keep it clean for some vu_action :) you can scroll through the pdf manual for most of the functionality

no.. if i use the device, hotspot is off as well. device works without hotspot/wifi. if you mean can i use the app when hotspot/wifi is off, then no. you can keep the internet off -> use one phones hotpsot (wifi/internet off) -> let wiim and your another phone with the wiim app connect to it...

i use wiim ultra without internet by using hotspot and my PEQ remains in effect, the unit also switches to whatever input has a signal if no other have, not sure about usb though (have used room correction and at the end its essentially peq filters so yes they will stay in effect at the inputs...

somewhere there was a test of different streamers.. i have Wiim Ultra, but interested to find that article, im using Peq in wiim, but am suprised how little boost in bass i get from +6db, almost nothing compared to my old days pc -> app -> eq boost in that same region, probably bias and what...

arent those <250Hz decay's rather bass waves that take longer to dissipate. I've read from 'i think' Adam audio papers, that shorter decays from low bass can be achieved if you dont tune the drivers that low and/or use a closed box solution.
