Voxx has been sold to new owner (Gentex).... Klipsch, Onkyo, Integra, etc...

Your figure is off - read Voxx’s Q2 earnings report, PAC as a whole did $50M in the quarter, so extrapolating conservatively ( assuming Q3 will be more as it always is ), that’s $200M for the year. And by far Klipsch will be the largest share, $140M or so at least. More importantly PAC as a...

    Integra DRX-8.4

FTC also specifies speaker impedance ( 8 ohms ), frequency range ( 20 - 20k ), and a maximum Total Harmonic Distortion ( less than 0.1% ), as power delivery increases with lower impedance, and more power can also lead to more distortion. It’s an artificial measure at best because speaker...

    Exciting news from Onkyo and Pioneer: TX-RZ70/ VSX-LX705, TX-RZ9/VSX-LX905 = Auro 3D + DLBC!

Yes, sorry that is what I meant - not that the Atmos standard doesn’t allow it, but manufacturers don’t provide it in their firmware. At least, I haven’t come across the option in Marantz/Denon PiOnkyo

    Exciting news from Onkyo and Pioneer: TX-RZ70/ VSX-LX705, TX-RZ9/VSX-LX905 = Auro 3D + DLBC!

    Correct. I don’t think 5.x.6 exists, so to have 6 in-ceiling speakers you’d need 7.x.6 - and the DRX 8.4, LX-805, RZ-70 only support 11-channel processing

    Exciting news from Onkyo and Pioneer: TX-RZ70/ VSX-LX705, TX-RZ9/VSX-LX905 = Auro 3D + DLBC!

I’m a long term lurker and big fan of PiOnkyo - the RZ-70/LX805 seem the 2023 equivalents of the Denon 6500H and Marantz Cinema 40, certainly not the Denon x3800H. The Cinema 40, at $3500 has fewer amplified channels and less power. The Denon 6500H has a single 4K/120fps input and no Dirac etc...
