miniDSP Flex HT - Review and Measurements

TL;DR; Anyone have issues with having two possible inputs, and it continually changing between the two? I've used Googe but nothing came up ------------------------- I started with it connected to PC via USB, and output is to KH120's over RCA -> XLR + SVS Micro 3000 with RCA Issue is I've...

    Neumann KH120 II Monitor Review

XLR. Just bought a Flex HT with analog because intent was I wanted one DAC/Amp to experiment with room correction for speakers, and eq my headphones (e.g. oratory1990's settings) Edit: Turns out it can't really drive my headphones I'm an idiot and thought it had some level of amplification &...

    Neumann KH120 II Monitor Review

I must have gotten some old stock then before II was released. Not many stores in Australia stock it. Foam had deteriorated pretty quickly when took it out of the box Ordered M6 bolts on Amazon, so be here tomorrow. Not end of world. Edit: Yep, I must have gotten old stock. I looked at the...

    Neumann KH120 II Monitor Review

Now I feel like an idiot Ordered the LH65 stands, assuming (MY BAD) that they'd work for KH120 II No. They've changed the mounting size from an M8 on KH120 to an M6 on the KH120 II So now need to buy some more M6's. Not the biggest issue in the world but a PITA none the less

    Neumann KH120 II Monitor Review

Sent it back. After some back and forth over a few weeks, they apologised and sent me a new one. First day, new one went into standby, then woke back up. Great. Told them to close the ticket. Second day, new one didn't go into standby and the old one did ... F I'm just going to turn off auto...

    Neumann KH120 II Monitor Review

Sent back today. Probably a few weeks until returned. I'm using my previous Tuk Kanto's until then Should have blind tested them side by side because I immediately miss the KH120's :p

    Neumann KH120 II Monitor Review

Yeah, I'm on 2.3.2.2018 when upgraded firmware My concern for now it's just an indication of faulty hardware, and a more permanent failure will happen the moment it's out of warranty.

Which nearfield upgrade(s) from Tuk Kanto, DX7 Pro, SVS 3000 Micro? $5k AUD / $3k USD

Minor update for those in future. Had some extra cash so jumped on some KH120 II's on sale :P https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/neumann-kh120-ii-monitor-review.46362/page-66#post-2063060 Quite impressed by the MiniDSP software.

    Neumann KH120 II Monitor Review

Just got mine and happy but there's a few things I'm trying to resolve before calling my setup perfect for me One of the two speakers actually turns off instead of going into standby mode. I need to turn the switch off at the back and on again to get it to play music again. I've updated...

Which nearfield upgrade(s) from Tuk Kanto, DX7 Pro, SVS 3000 Micro? $5k AUD / $3k USD

Thanks again. Ordered MiniDSP HT + UMIK-1 and license once it arrives Couldn't see any reason to pick 8 over the HT (outside cost) Won't upgrade to Neumann KH120 II just yet. Play around with room correction, enjoy it for a while, then go for it and appreciate the difference.

    Minidsp Flex Review (Audio DSP)

Cheers. That's fine. I only ever run things in 2.1 / watch via Netflix. Our HT is pretty bad, so if I added this to it, it'd just be making it less shit

    Minidsp Flex Review (Audio DSP)

Hopefully quick question, I'm tossing up between which Flex and if someone can tell me if I've missed something Primary purpose is currently 2.1 setup for nearfield on my desktop My quick summary of benefit of each model - Standard unbalanced: 2*RCA input - 8: 8 RCA outputs - HT: Multichannel...

Which nearfield upgrade(s) from Tuk Kanto, DX7 Pro, SVS 3000 Micro? $5k AUD / $3k USD

Much appreciated @staticV3, you've given me some great advice & corrections Overall I'd like to do things once and do them right, so the extra features of the Flex over the DDRC-24 is worth the additional cost In saying that, I'm sure I'd be happy with the DDRC-24 I almost started going down...

Which nearfield upgrade(s) from Tuk Kanto, DX7 Pro, SVS 3000 Micro? $5k AUD / $3k USD

True, oversight from me. I confused myself when checking out ADI-2-Pro FS R BE and it's flexible I/O setup https://manuals.plus/topping/dx7-pro-dac-and-headphone-amp-manual So yes, lot's of inputs but only XLR & RCA output on the back of the DX7 Pro Thank you. I had been overwhelmed by their...

Which nearfield upgrade(s) from Tuk Kanto, DX7 Pro, SVS 3000 Micro? $5k AUD / $3k USD

Adding Dirac Live to my existing system as the first step would involve Buy MiniDSP Flex + UMIK-1 + license https://www.customht.com.au/products/minidsp-flex-dsp-processor-ideal-for-subwoofer-correction-speaker-tuning?variant=44356199153922 Reading the manual...

https://www.dirac.com/live/downloads/?srsltid=AfmBOorRBX5O-dgGcrdoqyEqTomkZmpXd-bpc3HDPev2NriBYSMHkgt2 No Linux support just yet, but I'm happy to dual boot to Windows for measurements but question is how to get those corrections applied e.g. if there's a plugin for Linux, that's great. Or do I...

Which nearfield upgrade(s) from Tuk Kanto, DX7 Pro, SVS 3000 Micro? $5k AUD / $3k USD

Quick google got me $1100 vs $1500 AUD each My outcome for this setup is to buy something, enjoy it for the next 5 years, then repeat again, so the extra $800 is within budget and I wouldn't have the "I wonder..." in the back of my mind.

Which nearfield upgrade(s) from Tuk Kanto, DX7 Pro, SVS 3000 Micro? $5k AUD / $3k USD

Thanks. Room correction does seem that's a healthy first step https://www.minidsp.com/applications/digital-room-correction/dirac-live-vs-rew Dirac Live sounds like the better solution from my initial reading I'm big on open source software, and I thought REW was, but it's actually freeware...

Which nearfield upgrade(s) from Tuk Kanto, DX7 Pro, SVS 3000 Micro? $5k AUD / $3k USD

Fantastic. Could be what I'm looking for. I've been a little overwhelming looking at room correction, how it applies in my situation, what devices can/should I use Looks like it's getting discussed here, so if went with this could keep my setup simple...
