I think the M126 main difference is the beryllium tweeter. Its probably a significant amount of the price differential I would think. I have the F226 and the tweeter is excellent, clear crisp and not harsh. The difference is notable and worth it to me. In terms of bass response the 106 vs 126...

Nothing scientific from me, but I am enjoying the ah2b. I turned the volume up as loud as I could tolerate and it sounds great. I like the small form factor and efficiency. It barely gets warm.

I also got a pair of f226be recently and they sound excellent to me. Mids and highs are clear and accurate, I run them with a benchmark ahb2 and a sub. No regrets at all. I did consider 228s as all, but got a better deal on the 226 and I felt the bass would not be an issue with a separate sub.

I'm using amazon HD as well. I can stream 16bit/44.1 from iphone/ipad through airplay or direct usb connection. The only way to get higher than that would be a direct usb connection, using a pc/mac or ipad usb connector for iphone or ipad. Im not sure about android. I don't see any way...

I was thinking about this as well. I like the idea of better volume control.

If using the dac3/ahb2 combo, I assume there would really be no advantage in adding an LA4 or HPA4, if no other inputs are needed? The dac3 being used as essentially the preamp.

It seems they just cannot say the purifi amp is good, but they will find a 10k version that has huge heavy power supply that’s not actually needed. It seems like in order for them to promote a good class d amp they need it to be heavy and less efficient, essentially making it look like a class...

If your using the Dirac setup, it has a section to set levels for the speakers. How would you do this with a sub. It plays the test tone for the two channels, but the sub would play as well. Would you have to selectively mute the main speaker outputs and then run dirac?

Thanks for the info. So if running 1 sub, placed in the front, between the L&R speakers, I would mix both channels and send mono to the sub. Is there a need to run REW before dirac in this case? Or if I run 2 of the same subs, placed next to the L&R channels, would I need to run REW first?

Question about the minidsp SHD. If you run 2 subs, any thought on whether to use different outputs to each sub, with each output getting one of the channels? Or this doesn't matter and just mix both channels into both outputs to both subs. Lets assume the crossover is low at 80hz? Thanks

I guess the 228 could be beneficial in putting out more SPL than than the 226. I’m not sure with proper subs setup if that will really make much difference. It’s just the 2 woofers going from 6inch to 8 inch. If you cross them over at 80hz and let the subs handle everything lower, will there...

Anyone have a thought about the benefit of going with f228 instead of f226, if you will also have subs anyways?
